Considering The Possibility
The ornament was undoubtedly beautiful and it would make sense that it was carefully made with stunning detail if it indeed contained ashes inside. However, the two women had been shaking the ornament without knowing there were ashes inside, so they wondered if what they had done was disrespectful. Priscilla wasn’t even sure she wanted the ornament in her home if it in fact contained ashes of someone’s relative.

How She Felt
At first, Priscilla felt weirded out by the idea that she had the ashes of some random person in her home and that she had handled the ornament which contained them numerous times. That was a little unsettling. However, as she thought about it further, she felt empathy for the person whose remains were in the ornament and the family members who would want to keep such a precious item. Even though Priscilla had no idea how the ornament ended up at the thrift store, she knew that she needed to do something about it.
