Mad Max: Fury Road was about a reasonably close-feral human being who existed in a post-apocalyptic universe and finally wound up on a quest to save women from evil grips. On its own, the plot was exciting, but the tension and visual effects were what helped it to stand out. Most of the activity was true, and so were the high-speed automobiles.
