People were parking on his field so they could go shopping in the new market, Davao noticed one day. He didn’t give it much thought because a couple of cars didn’t bother him. However, as the weeks passed, it became clear that word was getting out. On weekends, especially, a growing number of cars were parked on Davao’s field. It grew to the point where he couldn’t do fieldwork on some days. He had to put a stop to it.

As people were pulling in, Davao began going outside and asking them not to park in his field. Those who came into contact with him retreated, but it was a free-for-all if he wasn’t on the field. But he couldn’t just stand outside all day blocking cars — he had responsibilities. He became more and more desperate. He racked his brain for ideas on how to halt the flow of unwanted vehicles on his property. However, none of the options appeared to be promising.
