As a matter of fact, royal biographer Ingrid Seward claimed that the Queen Mother favored the elder son since he knew that the boy would grow up to be the king in the future. However, Princess Diana made sure to raise Harry without giving him a complex about this.

It was tragic when Diana died in a car accident in 1997. William and Harry were left motherless, but it looked like this experience brought the two of them together more than anything else could. In 2017, William said this in a clip released by Kensington Palace: “We are uniquely bonded because of what we’ve been through. But even Harry and I over the years have not talked enough about our mother.”
