Decoration Budget

The White House has a one-hundred-thousand-dollar budget for redecorating, which means that presidents can’t go all out in their redesigning. Anything not covered by the budget will have to be paid for out of pocket. The Carters used up their $100,000 budget and then contributed $50,000 of their own money. The Reagans refused to accept the allocated budget and paid for their purchases with their own money. The Carters spent roughly the same amount as the Clintons and Obamas. None of this, however, compares to Kennedy’s project, which costs $16.4 million for a complete restoration of the White House.
