A Pew survey revealed that 63% of Greeks aren’t too keen on Americans. It is the irrepressible American optimism that really gets under the skin of the Greeks. With the country suffering crushing debts, some Americans’ ‘it’ll be fine’ attitude is not viewed positively. With several seats in parliament, the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) is also unsurprisingly highly critical of the love affair the U.S. has with capitalism and its banks’ importance.

Brazil

Although the U.S. film industry has picked Brazil as a location for many films, these movies typically disrespect Brazilian people and ignore the reality of life in Brazil. Directors and producers are only using Brazilian land or renting homes to film American stories. Tourists from America receive criticism for taking a trip to Brazil as part of what they call ‘poverty tourism’, so they are not warmly welcomed.
