When he went outside, he saw something that made his eyes bulge with rage. He’d tried to solve the problem before by asking them to stop in a peaceful manner but seeing this made him realize that it hadn’t worked. The sheer and barefaced audacity floored him as he looked up and down the rows and rows of cars, trying not to spit. He decided to carry out his last-ditch plan after vowing that he couldn’t go on like this. He’d teach them how to laugh at a farmer, and then he’d be the one doing the laughing.
Leading A Peaceful Life
But it didn’t have to be like this. One of the perks of living in a rural community is the ability to coexist peacefully with your neighbors. Davao Bedekovic, at least, used to believe that. Davao is content with his life in Jakusevec, a tiny Croatian village near Zagreb. His neighbors, on the other hand, have been giving him constant headaches recently. He tried to let it go, but it became too much for him.
Davao is a farmer with a small plot of land near the village center. The population of the town is around 2,000 people, but it is slowly growing and modernizing. A market recently opened not far from Davao’s farmhouse. He was happy to see the new addition because it meant he’d only have to walk less than five minutes to get his groceries. But he had no idea what kind of impact the new shopping center would have on his life — and it wasn’t a good one.
The new market lacked a dedicated parking area because it was located in the village center, which already had many other structures. As a result, customers parked on nearby streets and walked the rest of the way. But it was clear that this wasn’t going to be enough. The market was drawing a large crowd, and there was simply not enough street parking to accommodate everyone. Some of them decided to be inventive, despite the fact that they had no idea who would be affected.
Parking On His Land
People were parking on his field so they could go shopping in the new market, Davao noticed one day. He didn’t give it much thought because a couple of cars didn’t bother him. However, as the weeks passed, it became clear that word was getting out. On weekends, especially, a growing number of cars were parked on Davao’s field. It grew to the point where he couldn’t do fieldwork on some days. He had to put a stop to it.
As people were pulling in, Davao began going outside and asking them not to park in his field. Those who came into contact with him retreated, but it was a free-for-all if he wasn’t on the field. But he couldn’t just stand outside all day blocking cars — he had responsibilities. He became more and more desperate. He racked his brain for ideas on how to halt the flow of unwanted vehicles on his property. However, none of the options appeared to be promising.
Left With No Options
Davao became so enraged that he considered slashing the tires of the cars. But he was well aware that this would land him in hot water. He also considered erecting a fence around the field. However, this would be costly, making it more difficult for him to bring his vehicles into the field. He needed to come up with a way to deter people without interfering with his daily routine. Then he started devising a plan.
His Last Resort
When Davao went outside one day, he discovered entire rows of cars parked on his field. He took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. He grinned a little at the prospect of the mayhem he was about to unleash. He walked slowly across the property to the other side. He climbed into the cab of a large red tractor and started it up.
He Caused A Commotion
He plowed straight into the parked cars, churning up the dirt in his wake. He’d reached his limit, but vengeance would be sweet. The tractor began to attract the attention of passers-by. People on the street stopped to watch the enraged farmer exact his vengeance on the inconsiderate drivers.
No Way Out
He plowed deep trenches across the entire field as he drove around the rows of cars. It was obvious that maneuvering their small sedans through the turned-over mud and uneven surface would be difficult. There was no way out. Those who didn’t have cars on the field laughed at the spectacle, and one person even began filming it. One woman, however, was not amused.
It Was A Mess
As they exited the market with their shopping bags, one by one, the car owners found themselves in a nightmare situation. Those who were fortunate enough to park near the street could safely exit their vehicles without becoming stuck in the mud. The rest of the vehicles, however, were left stranded. That didn’t stop one particularly enraged driver from attempting to flee.
They Weren’t Happy
One woman, the owner of a silver Peugeot, was not pleased with Davao’s actions. She got into her car, huffing, puffing, and attempted to drive out of the field. She didn’t get very far before the wheels became stuck in the mud. But she wasn’t one to give up easily.
She Did Something Unexpected
The enraged woman swerved her small car from left to right, even driving in reverse, in an attempt to free her vehicle. It was a complete failure. She stormed over, enraged, from her car. Davao was bracing itself for a fight. But then she took out her phone and did something unexpected that not even Davao anticipated.
She Called The Cops
The enraged woman called the cops, who were taken aback by what they discovered when they arrived. They had clearly never had to deal with anything like this before. A group of enraged car owners approached them right away, demanding that something should be done about the farmer’s transgression.
Hearing Him Out
Some of them even demanded that he be detained. The cops then approached Davao. He told them about the throngs of cars parked on his property and how the drivers were too lazy to cross the street. After hearing Davao’s side of the story, the cops had no choice but to agree that the drivers were in the wrong.
The Law Was On His Side
The cops turned to the drivers after making sure that Davao hadn’t done any intentional damage to the vehicles and delivered some bad news: there was nothing they could do. After all, this was Davao’s land, and he had every right to do whatever he wanted with it. They were, on the other hand, trespassing.
Getting The Last Laugh
Davao could have technically prosecuted the car owners for trespassing. But leaving their cars stranded in mud trenches was sufficient punishment for him. He’d made certain that no one would park on his property ever again. In the meantime, the video of Davao’s retaliation was making the rounds on social media and in the news.
A Win For The Farmer
People all over the world praised the farmer’s actions after seeing the video of him exacting sweet revenge on the inconsiderate drivers. Everyone admired how he took matters into his own hands and devised a unique solution to his dilemma. One commenter wrote: “Farmer wasn’t grumpy, he was smart. No one has the right to park on private property. Good for him!”
He Was Praised
“Perfect. That didn’t cost him much, HE didn’t involve the authorities AND got the point across, I’m Certain! Even today in my community people are willing to talk things out, as they always have. Unfortunately, not everyone is raised that way…” Another commenter wrote. However, the video demonstrates a growing problem with illegal parking, which people are simply not willing to tolerate any longer.
Fighting Illegal Parking
A group of Brazilian pranksters shared a video of them swiftly punishing a driver who had parked illegally in a handicap spot. They covered the entire car in blue and white Post It notes once it was left unattended, eventually forming the shape of the universal handicap symbol. The driver was furious and stormed away, but the video went viral, raising awareness about this critical issue. But that isn’t the only example of hilarious retaliation against illegal parkers.
Revenge Against Illegal Parkers
People like Davao, for example, are fed up with illegal parking and have come up with hilarious and creative solutions to the problem. Most of us will just keep quiet and go about our business, but there are those who will no longer tolerate these infractions. Beware of the inconsiderate and lazy parkers!
