There seemed to be many potholes that came unexpectedly, but because no one noticed or did anything to repair it, David took the issue into his own hands and patched them for years. He was concerned that an unfortunate incident might happen and that someone might get hurt. Regrettably, not all of them were like David, and his neighbors had various ideas for them.

His neighbors tried to shift the gravel to the asphalt, and David declined. No one was willing and able to pay the money that was needed for it to be done. It was the explanation for the conflict between the two sides, a struggle that had taken place generations before. Even the daughter of David said she couldn’t recall a time when there were no disputes between them and said, “Everybody here is a complete nutjob.”
