The Condition
Alopecia causes shedding of hair in small areas, but this symptom can be camouflaged by healthier hair at times. When hairless spots grow and meld together with other areas that have no follicles, the condition begins to become more obvious. Alopecia doesn’t just affect the scalp but it can also cause the loss of eyebrows, eyelashes, and even facial hair.
