The star first met her now-husband, Will Smith, in 1994 when she auditioned for the part of Smith’s onscreen girlfriend Lisa Wilkes on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Apparently, those who did the casting thought Jada wasn’t tall enough to play Lisa, so they cast Nia Long for the part instead.

However, Jada still got something from her audition: the Fresh Prince himself. She and Will Smith started out having a platonic relationship before they started to date in 1995. Two years later, the couple walked down the aisle in front of around 100 guests. They exchanged vows just outside Baltimore –where Jada had grown up.
