His Family Was Exiled When He Was Just A Boy

His family was required to leave Greece after the Greco-Turkish war as his uncle, Constantine I was abdicated. The family was connected to the Mountbatten dynasty which led to a British boat called the HMS Calypso coming to evacuate them. Prince Philip was supposedly taken in a fruit crate and he was just 18 months old. The family ventured to France and Philip was raised in Saint-Cloud with his aunt, Marie Bonaparte.
