Who knew trail cameras would be such a great thing? One moment, a deer is minding its own business, the next, it gets startled by a flash and winds up making the funniest face! Then there are other times when it looks as if the wolf in the distance is purposely posing for the camera. If you were looking for pictures of animals caught on trail cameras, you’ve come to the right place!
Just A Deer And Its Barrel
You gotta wonder what’s inside that barrel. The deer must have found something it likes and decided to keep it. It makes sense. Who would be brave enough to go and stop it? It’s the perfect crime when you think about it. The only witness is the trail cam.

Just A Deer And Its Barrel
Tumbled Into Weed
Horns can be inconvenient, even for a buck. This guy seems like he will never be able to get the tumbleweed off his head. Perhaps if someone was around when he walked past the camera, he would be able to solve this problem. Instead, we were blessed with this photo.

Tumbled Into Weed
Not Messing Around
We’re glad we weren’t around when this was happening. The bear here seems to be running directly at something. We know the bear isn’t running at the camera, we know that much. Maybe it was chasing its little cubs?

Not Messing Around
No Humans Invited
Don’t worry, no humans were harmed in the making of this photo. You’d think that large groups of deer hanging in the woods would be adorable, not terrifying. The real question that remains is what are the deer doing? This picture makes it seem like the camera was interrupting something important…

No Humans Invited
The Chase Is On!
We aren’t sure why this man is running after this wild dog, or why he’s dressed up to do so, but we have a few guesses. We think it’s most likely that the wild dog stole something that wasn’t his. Or, maybe this man is simply protecting his property. For all we know, he owns a farm nearby and spotted this hound eyeing the chickens.

The Chase Is On!
The Dark Side
During the day, otters are as adorable as anything, right? People love calling them water dogs for this reason. However, once the sun goes down, they become adorably vicious hunters. We can clearly see that this otter overtook that giant fish in the battle that must have taken place before.

The Dark Side
Perfectly Timed
This deer was just trying to go on a peaceful night stroll, but this owl was not having it. It swooped down out of nowhere to ruin this deer’s evening. Just plain rude. We can only hope this owl didn’t think of the deer as dinner.

Perfectly Timed
The Eagle War
Everyone’s seen the ‘eagle nest cam’, but have you seen the ‘eagle war cam’? No? Well, it’s not really a thing, but, this trail cam just gave us something incredibly unique and pretty amazing. These two eagles here are fighting over something – most likely food. Not to mention, you can see the audience of smaller birds that gathered to watch the fight.

The Eagle War
Just A Squirrel Pretending To Be A Bird
This trail camera must have been set off by the deer or the flying squirrel. It’s safe to say that the squirrel isn’t attacking the deer since it already has food in its mouth. So what is it doing? Maybe it was trying to get a ride back home with this deer.

Just A Squirrel Pretending To Be A Bird
Raccoon Selfie
This raccoon saw an opportunity and took it. It must have known there was a trail camera in these woods. We’re guessing it’s been caught on camera more than once, and now it’s just posing for a pic. The deer grazing in the background makes this picture even better if you ask us!

Raccoon Selfie
Party Time
This is the happiest group of raccoons we’ve ever seen. They came across a load of food spilled on the ground and they’re partying the night away while eating to their hearts’ content. One even went as far as getting comfortable right in the middle of the pile of food.

Party Time
Mother Fox
Of course, this momma fox probably wasn’t aware that she was right in front of a trail camera when she was feeding her babies. Clearly, she doesn’t care. Her babies are happy, so she’s happy too. Just look at how content her face is!

Mother Fox
Nature’s Beauty…
For those who are confused: yes, that is a wildcat on a buffalo’s back. Who knows, maybe Uber and Lyft exist in the wild as well! Or maybe, it existed in the wild before we humans caught on? Who knows… We just hope the wildcat remembers to tip its driver, that’s all.

Nature’s Beauty…
Food Fights Back
When it came across two deer, this coyote must have thought it hit the jackpot, but little did it know it would get more than it bargained for. These deer have zero interest in becoming food. You can see how they’re standing their ground, looking nonchalant.

Food Fights Back
Nature Has Had Enough
This trail camera probably had a good run. According to its owner, this was the very last picture taken before it was smashed and broken. Nature has clearly spoken. This bird definitely looks like it’s ready for a fight. Even though it doesn’t look like a particularly scary bird, it must have been tired of being watched constantly.

Nature Has Had Enough
Surrealist Painting
Yes, this picture is real. The sky is blown out in the background while the tiger isn’t very well lit, giving the poorly exposed picture a surrealist feeling. Weirdly enough, this picture is beautiful despite being taken in terrible quality. That trail must have been hot, too. Otherwise, it probably wouldn’t have dipped half of its body in mud to cool down.

Surrealist Painting
Call An Uber
Wild Uber is for all animals, not just the buffalo. This raccoon must have been struggling to get where it wanted and decided to call up the wild boar to help it out. It seems that the wild boar didn’t mind helping the raccoon at all.

Call An Uber
All You Can Eat
These deer clearly don’t care there is a trail camera right by them as they dig into their feast. You can see them simply looking into the camera, completely unbothered. They must know there’s nothing we can do about it, and even if we could, why would we?

All You Can Eat
A Jaw-Dropping Escape
This incredible moment was caught on camera at just the right second. This coyote was just about ready to eat the dinner it cornered, going in for the kill. However, this raccoon had other ideas in mind and ran up a tree to get away.

A Jaw-Dropping Escape
The Battle For Food
It just so happened that this raccoon and this deer came across the same feeder at the same time. Unfortunately, there wasn’t enough food for both of them. While sharing is caring, we don’t think these two cared enough to share – it’s every animal for itself.

The Battle For Food
Get Away
This cat was minding its own business, just trying to enjoy itself on its hammock. Then, these two deer came out of nowhere and decided to ruin all the fun. Luckily for the cat, the deer obviously don’t eat meat. However, these two still look like they’re up to something…

Get Away
Not Friends
At first, this looks like a screenshot of a deer running through the forest. However, at second glance, you’ll see that the deer is actually running from the flying squirrel behind it. We have so many questions about this. Why is the squirrel chasing a deer? Why is the deer afraid of the small rodent? Are they fighting for something? We need answers.

Not Friends
Forestry Love
These two porcupines were caught sharing a moment in front of the trail camera. Who knows if they even knew it was there. Either way, it’s such a sweet photo, we’re glad the camera caught it! All the same, they should be careful, there can be plenty of predators around.

Forestry Love
Not High Enough
Lucky for this wild pig, some hunters thought they hung up their food high enough from the shorter animals on the ground. They’re going to have a difficult morning once they wake up to find out their food was eaten by a pig.

Not High Enough
Abducted
We can now safely say that we’ve seen an alien abduction. There really isn’t any other explanation for this picture. Honestly, it looks like a movie poster. From the looks of it, the deer must have been there one second and gone the next.

Abducted
Run
This is one of those photos that look like they were taken seconds before disaster strikes. Either this small rabbit is moments away from meeting its maker, or it will manage to escape somehow. Even though we don’t want the mountain lion to go hungry, we also don’t want the rabbit to die.

Run
Let Me Whisper In Your Ear
It looks like this deer is whispering something to the other. Or it might just be licking the other deer for some reason, who knows. Either way seems like the second deer is very distracted by something in the distance.

Let Me Whisper In Your Ear
“What Are You Looking At?”
At first glance, it looks like this creature is a bear cub, but it turns out that it’s a large marten. They can be pretty destructive since they have a tendency to chew on things like cars. People that live in areas that martens live can even get marten-damage insurance.

“What Are You Looking At”
Bye Santa
Looks like someone put this stuffed Santa Clause right in front of the trail camera to see what would happen. Instead of some curious deer coming out to inspect it, a bear became very interested in it. It promptly decided it was a present for himself and took it.

Bye Santa
Howling At The Moon
Most of us have heard packs of coyotes and wolves howling before, but have you ever seen it caught on camera? Well, here we have coyotes howling at the moon and putting on quite a show. They howl in order to keep in touch with other coyotes in the area, or in order to make a threat while protecting their den or a fresh kill.

Howling At The Moon
Step Up, Bro
We aren’t really sure what these two deer are doing, but we doubt this is a friendly situation. It looks like they might start boxing each other. Now that would be a sight to see! This picture makes us wonder what they really are doing when they’re alone in the wild.

Step Up, Bro
Out Of The Blue
This little squirrel was out here minding its own business when this hawk came out of nowhere and decided to hunt down the squirrel. Not that the hawk doesn’t need to eat, of course. But all the same, the squirrel doesn’t have much of a chance in this situation, let’s be honest.

Out Of The Blue
Get Out Of Here
This deer must have been trying to protect its young or its food. If we were that fox, we would kick things into high gear and get out of there – that deer has a very aggressive look on its face. Not to mention, the deer’s antlers look like they can do some serious damage.

Get Out Of Here
Lots Going On
If we didn’t know better, we’d think this ominous photo was some kind of painting. This camera really caught a lot at this moment! A wild lynx runs off with a fresh kill while a duck flies overhead casually. That duck should be thankful it wasn’t the one in the lynx’s mouth.

Lots Going On
Showdown
While these two deer are having a go at each other, they aren’t aware that they have an audience gathering in the back, watching them. We’re not completely sure what kind of animals those are, but they look very interested in the fight happening.

Showdown
Stealing A Kill
Here we can see a bald eagle swoop down and challenge another bird for its kill. While we don’t know how this whole situation turned out, but we can safely guess that the bald eagle either killed or scared away the second bird.

Stealing A Kill
King Of The Forest
Moose are the biggest extant species in the deer family. Nowadays, most Moose can be found in Canada, Alaska, New England, and in some parts of Eastern Europe. While they’re hunted by the gray wolf and humans, they have been known to be very aggressive and even deadly at times. Especially during their mating season in the fall.

King Of The Forest
Standing Its Ground
It looks like this deer is fighting for its life against what seems to be a coyote or a wolf. You can tell by the bite marks on the back of the deer’s legs that this fight hasn’t just started. However, by the looks of it, the deer somehow has the upper hand. The other animal seems to be cowering away and maybe even preparing to run away.

Standing Its Ground
Picking Up Her Cub
We all know how bears take extremely good care of their cubs, but we’ve never seen them pick up a cub like a human does a baby! This mother bear lifted her cub up to get a better look at something, or maybe reach some food or water.

Picking Up Her Cub
Fox Fight
Foxes are a rather common sight on these nighttime trail cameras, but what’s not common is seeing pictures like this. These foxes are really going at each other, teeth bared. You can almost hear them hissing at each other! We can’t help but wonder who will win.
