Life is a mystery and time seems to work in mysterious ways. When we think of the Hollywood Golden Age, we still get a hint of nostalgia and remember our favorite actresses and actors from the peak of their lives. You may be surprised to learn that many of these legendary and iconic Hollywood stars are still thriving into old age. While some have clearly won the genetic lottery and aged like fine wines, others have opted for surgery to help maintain their youthful appearance. Some stars still credit their nutritious diets and fitness regimens for the state of their health, and others seemed to be blessed with nine lives! So let’s take a nostalgic look through back at our favorite Golden stars.
BETTY WHITE, 96 YEARS OLD
Betty White is one of our all-time favorite celebs, and you might be surprised to learn that she actually started her career working on radio gigs during the ‘40s! It seems that back then the movie executives didn’t find her photogenic enough to make movies. Well they clearly had no vision, because Betty White actually holds the record for the longest-running career of any female entertainer in history. Now she is well into her ’90s, she’s showing no signs of slowing down or retiring. While fans are always concerned about this star’s health, Betty is a trooper and is always ready to smile and entertain.
CAROL CHANNING, 97 YEARS OLD
Carol Channing is an iconic actress, singer and comedienne. She first shot to the spotlight in musicals like Thoroughly Modern Millie, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, and Hello Dolly, and was famed for her beautiful and distinctive singing voice. Carol has received a great deal of accolades and in 1995 was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award. Now she is well into her ’90s and looks amazing for her age. She also released her autobiography in 2002, called Just Lucky I Guess, and we couldn’t agree more!
SALMA HAYEK, 52 YEARS OLD
Now one of the most famous actresses in Hollywood, Salma Hayek has seriously made herself a name in the industry. On top of her success, her husband is worth $26 billion. Starring in Frida, Salma is still acting to this day and is showing no signs of slowing down. She and her husband live in LA with their daughter.
LAURA SAN GIACOMO, 56 YEARS OLD
Laura had her big break playing in Sex, Lies, and Videotape back in 1989. Ever since her career has been on the rise. The Steven Soderbergh movie earned her a Golden Globe nomination as well as a Los Angeles Critics Association- New Generation Award. She even starred in Pretty Woman as Kit De Luca.
RICHARD CHAMBERLAIN, 84 YEARS OLD
Richard Chamberlain got his breakthrough role on the hit NBC series Dr. Kildare. Fans still remember him affectionately as the young intern doctor James Kildare, who worked at the fictional Blair General Hospital! The massive success of the hospital series helped pave the way to even more acting opportunities, both on the big screen and on the stage. These included the Solomon’s Mines, The Bourne Identity, and The Thorn Birds. Richard was also openly gay and famously confirmed it in his autobiography Shattered Love in 2003. His last acting credit was in the independent film We Are the Hartmans in 2011.
BOLO YEUNG, 72 YEARS OLD
Once a competitive bodybuilder, Bolo Yeung is a professional martial artist who brings his skills to the big screen. Not only does he star in martial arts films, but he directs them as well. For the most part, he plays the villain in movies he’s in. Some of his most known movies are Enter the Dragon with Bruce Lee, Bloodsport with Jean-Claude Van Damme, and Bloodfight with Yasuaki Kurata and Simon Yam. At 72 years old, Bolo is still active in the industry.
RON HOWARD, 65 YEARS OLD
American actor and filmmaker, Ron Howard knew from a young age what career he wanted. By 1958, he made his first appearance in Hollywood. Fun fact: his real last name is actually “Beckenholdt”, but by 1948 he took the name “Howard” to be his stage name. In 1959, he had his first credited film role in The Journey. That same year, he made several appearances on various TV shows, such as The Twilight Zone and Dennis the Menace. In 1960, he was cast as Opie Taylor in The Andy Griffith Show, and the rest, as they say, is history.
CLINT EASTWOOD, 88 YEARS OLD
We can’t imagine that anyone wouldn’t know the name Clint Eastwood. The legendary actor, filmmaker, and politician has definitely made his mark on the industry. Aside from acting in many iconic movies like Dirty Harry in the ’60s, he’s even directed films – both ones he appeared in and ones he didn’t. To top it off, he won multiple Academy Awards for Best Director and Best Picture and was nominated for Best Actor. Finally, Eastwood actually became the mayor of Carmel-by-the-Sea, California in 1986 and served for two years!
Richard Keith, 67 Years Old
Richard Keith shot to the limelight at a young age. When he was just five years old, he became a child star playing the adorable Little Ricky in I Love Lucy. Fans may not realize that he also had many other talents and even started playing the drums at the age of three! Richard went on to appear in shows like The Andy Griffith Show and embarked on a rock career in various bands. In 1990, he then became the Executive Director for his wife’s company, Ballet Magnificat, and accompanied them on tour. In 2017, the couple etsablished a Brasilian dance company, Ballet Magnificat.
TONY BENNETT, 92 YEARS OLD
Tony Bennet is a legendary jazz crooner and show-tune singer and has enjoyed a long and enviable career since the 50’s. He originally studied at the New York’s School of Industrial Arts before embarking on a successful singing career. His signature song was “I Left My Heart in San Francisco,” and released many albums like The Beat Of My Heart. Tony has now reached his 90’s and is believed to be worth a staggering $200 million. He is also still belting out jazz anthems and can still hit every note in his songs.
EVA MARIE SAINT, 94 YEARS OLD
Eva Marie Saint has been active in show business since the 1940’s, and the starlet is probably best known for her iconic performance in the movie On The Waterfront, alongside Marlon Brando. She was one of the original actresses in the black and white era and even won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in the film. Since then her career has spanned over 70 years, and her other acting accolades include North by Northwest, the Raintree County, Superman Returns and most recently in 2014 she appeared in Winter’s Tale. At 94, we’d love to know her ageing secret, as she still looks radiant.
JACKIE MASON, 87 YEARS OLD
Jackie Mason made a name for himself as a talented stand-up artist. The acclaimed comedian has also performed on Broadway in a few one-man shows and won numerous awards, including an Emmy and Special Tony Award. Jackie ranked as the 63rd greatest stand-up comedians in history in the coveted Comedy Central survey and even won an Emmy for his voice-over of Rabbi Hyman Krustofski on the Simpsons. We’re sure Jackie has amassed a small fortune over the years and can afford to enjoy his retirement in style.
JULIE GIBSON, 105 YEARS OLD
Julie Gibson was an incredible actress and singer who started her prolific career in the 1940s as a singer in the Jimmie Grier Orchestra. The starlet then went on to join the cast of Joe Penner’s radio program before appearing in some smaller movie roles. However she soon worked her way up and starred in movies like Chick Carter, Detective, Bowery Buckaroos and the Three Stooges’ films Three Smart Saps and Sock-a-Bye Baby. Julie then expanded her range and worked on many movies in the US and abroad too. She now has reached milestone at 105 and is actually the oldest living performer from the ‘Golden Age’.
HAL HOLBROOK, 93 YEARS OLD
Some fans have hailed Hal Holbrook as one of the most gifted men in the entertainment industry, and we can see why. He first broke out as a successful actor after portraying Mark Twain in the production of a one-man play. From that point his career was unstoppable and the versatile actor managed to conquer the world of TV, movies, and stage productions. His list of acting credits is impressive, as well as his accolades and award. Now he is into his ’90’s he has amassed a large wealth and we’re sure he has a few stories to tell too.
LEX LUGER, 60 YEARS OLD
Lex Luger is a professional wrestler who famously known as “The Total Package.” During the ’80s and 90’s he rose to the peak of his career and competed in the World Wrestling Federation and the World Championship Wrestling. Lex was also a football pro and famously played for the Miami Hurricanes in the NFL. Sadly, Lex suffered a spinal stroke in 2007 and was forced to quit sports completely. Thankfully, he decided to stay active in the WWE, but on the other side of the camera as a member of the Wellness Policy team.
BILLY DEE WILLIAMS, 82 YEARS OLD
American actor and singer, you might recognize Billy Dee Williams from one of the most famous franchises: Star Wars. He played Landi Calrissian in 1980. His first on-screen appearance was in The Empire Strikes Back. Aside from that, he was involved in other popular productions like Brian’s Song back in 1971. Not to mention that he played in Batman and Lady Sings the Blues too. Other than just acting, Billy wanted to try his luck in music and ended up releasing his very own jazz LP. It turned out to be a commercial success!
SYLVESTER STALLONE, 72 YEARS OLD
For us, Sylvester Stallone will forever be incarnated as a Hollywood action figure and the star of iconic movie franchises like Rocky and Rambo. In his later years, he moved on to directing and screen-writing, but continued to act in movies like the Expendables and a Rocky spin-off, called Creed. It’s hard to believe that he is now 72, but his endearing charms and looks haven’t faded at all. What’s more, he is still going strong and his latest movie, Rambo V will be released in 2019.
DEAN STOCKWELL, 82 YEARS OLD
Dean Stockwell is still affectionately remembered by fans as AI from the classic sci-fi series Quantum Leap. However, he first started acting at the tender age of 7 on stage on Broadway and has a long list of acting credits to his name. Some of his most iconic TV and movie roles include Blue Velvet, Beverly Hills Cop II, The Player and Air Force One. Dean has carved an epic career and his last appearance was in 2015 in Entertainment. We can safely say this legendary actor has earned his retirement.
KIRK DOUGLAS, 101 YEARS OLD
Kirk Douglas has lead an unbelievable life and we’re actually starting to believe he actually has nine lives. That’s because he has managed to swerve many life-threatening situations. In the Second World War, he was a member of the Navy before becoming a legendary actor. Then in 1991 he lived through a chopper crash, before surviving a stroke at 80 years old. We’re sure now the Hollywood actor has reached 101 years old, he has saved up enough wealth to cover all his medical bills.
DORIS DAY, 96 YEARS OLD
Doris Day is another Hollywood starlet who became of the most successful actresses in the show biz in the ’50s and the ’60s. She started her star-studded career as a band singer in 1939 and went onto star in iconic movies like The Man Who Knew Too Much, Pillow Talk, and Calamity Jane. In 1968 she even landed her own sitcom, The Doris Day Show, She has received many accolades for her work including a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. At the age of 89 she proved she’s unstoppable by releasing an album My Heart and now at 96 she is still a living legend.
KRISTY MCNICHOL, 57 YEARS OLD
Throughout her career, Kristy McNichol has become a legend. The American comedian, actress, producer, and singer, is now 57. She’s most famous for her roles in movies like Little Darlings, Only When I Laugh and the TV show Empty Nest. However, she has since retired from the show business.
CAREL STRUYCKEN, 70 YEARS OLD
Carel Struycken is infamously known as Lurch from The Addams Family movie franchise. Originally from Holland, Carel has enjoyed a long career as a movie, TV, and stage actor. You may have also seen him as Mr. Homn in Star Trek: The Next Generation and as the Giant Fireman in Twin Peaks. Carel is now 70 and a strict vegetarian loves gardening and is an avid photographer. He currently lives with his wife and family in LA and writes a photography blog.
MAX BAER JR., 80 YEARS OLD
Max Baer Jr. is a legendary actor, producer, screenwriter, and director, and shot to stardom as Jethro Bodine in The Beverly Hillbillies. He has enjoyed a long TV career on shows like Maverick and 77 Sunset Strip, before moving onto screen writing directing and producing talents for the big screen. He made a name for himself directing box office movie hits like Ode To Billy Jo and Hometown U.S.A. Still, Max will always be remembered by fans for his role in The Beverly Hillbillies and now the last surviving member of the cast.
NORMAN LLOYD, 103 YEARS OLD
Norman Lloyd is another outstanding actor, producer and director to add to our list. At 103 years old he has had career in entertainment spanning over nine decades. He has also been lucky enough to witnessed many monumental moments in history, and famously worked with industry greats like Orson Welles and Alfred Hitchcock and Charlie Chaplin. Norman appeared in over 60 films and was known for his villainous roles like a Nazi spy in Alfred Hitchcock’s Saboteur. He also dipped his toes into producing and directing. Now that he has passed the centenarian mark, Norman hasn’t even officially retired and even appeared in the movie Trainwreck in 2015.
ANN BLYTH, 90 YEARS OLD
Ann Blyth has carved a glittering show biz career for herself and is one of the last surviving stars from the Golden Age of Hollywood. She started out in the 1940’s and was typically cast in various Hollywood musicals like The Sound Of Music as well as dramatic roles like The Helen Morgan Story. She famously won An Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for the film Mildred Pierce, which she starred alongside Joan Crawford. She has received various accolades for her work and even has her own star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Ann has since retired and can now afford the luxury of living a life of leisure with her family.
CICELY TYSON, 93 YEARS OLD
Cicely Tyson broke out as an iconic African-American fashion model before becoming a legendary actress. Her acting career has since spanned over six decades and she is best known for her role as Constantine Bates in the movie The Help. Cicely has also received a whole host of accolades, including a Primetime Emmy, Tony and Academy Award. She received the highly coveted Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2015, and now she has reached her 90’s, she looks incredible and is still going strong.
SIDNEY POITIER, 91 YEARS OLD
Another Hollywood great to add to the list is Sidney Poitier. He originally made history in his heyday for becoming the first African-American man to be awarded with an Oscar for the 1963 film Lilies of the Field. The Bahamian-American actor also starred in numerous significant movies involving race-relations, like To Sir, with Love; In the Heat of the Night; and Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner. He has also doubled as a film director, author, and diplomat and directed blockbusting movies like Ghost Dad. Sidney was recognized for his work by received a knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II all the way back in 1974. In 2016 he was awarded the a prestigious BAFTA Fellowship for his outstanding lifetime achievement in film, and can now enjoy the life of leisure.
CARL REINER, 96 YEARS OLD
Carl Reiner is one talented man, and the comedian, actor, director, and writer has forged a career that spanned seven decades. He first rose to fame in the 1950’s as a co-writer and actor in Caesar’s Hour and Your Show of Shows, starring Sid Caesar. He famously formed a comedy duo with Mel Brooks in the movie 2000 Year Old Man and more recently he starred as Saul in the Ocean’s Eleven film franchise. Carl has received numerous accolades for his performances, including nine Emmy awards and one Grammy and is believed to have a net worth of approximately $70 million. At 96 years old, Carl is living out his later years in Beverley Hills California.
Rhonda Fleming, 95 Years Old
Rhonda Fleming was famed for her flaming red hair and ghostly complexion. She was even hailed as the “The Queen of Technicolor” in her heyday. Rhonda has appeared in over forty films during the course of her career, and had her breakthrough role starring in the Alfred Hitchcock movie Spellbound. She has since retired from acting and in 1991, she established the Rhonda Fleming Mann Clinic for Women’s Comprehensive Care in UCLA Medical Center. She now focuses on this and her charity projects too.
BARBARA EDEN, 87 YEARS OLD
Barbara Eden shot to stardom after landing the lead role of Jeannie in the fantasy sitcom I Dream of Jeannie. She went on to star in other sitcoms like I Love Lucy and later landed a co-starring role in Flaming Star with the rock legend Elvis Presley. While she starred in numerous TV, movies and stage roles after this and released a best-selling memoir 2011, she has now entered retirement. To us, we’ll always remember her as Jeannie, and we’re sure she can now enjoy a dreamy retirement, reaping the royalties of all her Jennie re-runs.
NANCY SINATRA, 78 YEARS OLD
When you’re born into Hollywood royalty and your father is Frank Sinatra, it seems like fate that you will inherit some royal talents for yourself. This was the case with Nancy Sinatra, who went above and beyond expectations and became a best-selling artist in her own right. Nancy first started to record music in the 1960’s and continued to churn out hits for many decades. Her last chart-topping album was released in 2013, and since then she has been maintaining a lower profile. Although some believe she has settled into retirement, she’s not confirmed this yet. Well we think she deserves a long leisurely break anyway.
JULIE ANDREWS, 83 YEARS OLD
Julia Andrews will forever be Mary Poppins to us, and she seems to possess magical medicinal powers because she looks timeless at the age of 83. Julie is an English actress, singer, and author who rose to prominence in Broadway shows. However she really hit the big time after her feature film debut in Mary Poppins, before moving onto the movie hits like Sound Of Music, The Princess Diaries and voice-overs for animations like Shrek and Enchanted. She has received numerous accolades, including an Academy Award, five Golden Globes, Grammy’s, Emmy’s, and was even made a Dame by Queen Elizabeth II in 2000. While she looks a vision at 83, she has also continued to work, releasing children’s books, an autobiography, and voice-overs for movies like Despicable Me.
BOB BARKER, 94 YEARS OLD
Bob Barker oozes charm and personality and won over the nation as a legendary American game show host. He even made history as he featured as the longest-running host on the longest-running game show, The Price is Right for a staggering 35 years! He also hosted various shows like Truth or Consequences and beauty pageants like Miss Universe and Miss USA. Another fun fact is that Bob even voiced a character of Bob Barnacle on Sponge Bob Square Pants. However, he later went onto experience some health issues so went into retirement, and we think he deserves a big long break.
DIAHANN CARROLL, 83 YEARS OLD
Diahann Carroll made history as the first non-white woman in the US to have ever starred in a TV show, titled Julia. Since then, she has been an inspirational figure for many aspiring African-American female actresses and entertainers. Diahann has enjoyed a long and flourishing career as an actress, singer and model. Her acting credits include Carmen Jones, Dynasty and more. She has also received many awards and even had her own show in 1976. The actress is a breast cancer survivor and activist and her last acting credit was in 2014. She has since retired but looks a vision in her ’80s.
DEBBIE HARRY, 73 YEARS OLD
Debbie Harry has an impressive musical resume as a singer and song writer, and has also rounded it off with her successful modelling and acting career. Known for her distinctive blonde locks, Debbie was also the leading vocalist for the punk rock band Blondie. She fast became a punk icon and some of their most memorable hits include Heart of Glass, Rapture, and Call Me. Debbie also found success as a solo artist and as an actress, and featured in over 60 films and TV shows such as Deuces Wild, Hairspray, and Cop Land. Sally Field is one talented actress and American sweetheart that also doesn’t seem to age. We were surprised to hear she has been acting for nearly sixty years and has accomplished so much. Sally first shot to fame as a teen actress on the flick Gidget, before landing some TV projects like The Girl with Something Extra, The Flying Nun, Sybil, and The Girl. She really cemented her status as one of the biggest actresses in the business, for her performances in movies like Mrs. Doubtfire, Steel Magnolias, Murphy’s Romance, Kiss Me Goodbye, and Forrest Gump. She has also been rewarded for her efforts with two Academy Awards, three Emmy’s and two Golden Globes. Now she is in her 70’s, she’s still unstoppable and continues to work on theater, film, and TV projects.

Another Hollywood starlet on the lists is Olivia De Havilland. The actress is well known for her performance as Melanie in the film adaptation of Gone with the Wind. She also rose to fame as a popular on-screen love duo with Errol Flynn. Together they both starred in a series of Hollywood classics, like Dodge City, The Adventures of Robin Hood, and Captain Blood. She has been awarded with numerous accolades and even has a star in the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. Now she has reached the milestone of 102, and was appointed Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II.
CHRISTOPHER PLUMMER, 88 YEARS OLD
Christopher Plummer was famed as Captain Von Trapp, who starred alongside Julie Andrews in the iconic movie The Sound of Music. He has also enjoyed a career that spanned six decades and played many historical roles, such as Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington in Waterloo and Rudyard Kipling in The Man Who Would Be King. At 88 years old he is still going strong and continuing to act. He last appeared as Kaiser Wilhelm II in The Exception in 2016. In fact, he was even nominated for an Academy Award for playing Paul Getty in the 2017 mystery film All the Money in the World.
LONI ANDERSON, 73 YEARS OLD
Another glamorous actress on the list is the lovely Loni Anderson. She was often compared to icons like Marilyn Monroe and Jayne Mansfield, and was even chosen to portray Jane Mansfield in a movie about her life story. Loni is also best known for her performance as Jennifer Marlowe on the sitcom WKRP in Cincinnati. She later earned three Golden Globes and multiple award nominations for this role. The Hollywood star has also appeared in hits like The Lonely Guy, Stroker Ace, and All Dogs Go to Heaven. Another interesting fact is that she was also famously married to the actor Burt Reynolds at one point. Later she found love again with Bob Flick, who is a singer in the ban ‘The Brothers Four.’

ROBERT FULLER, 85 YEARS OLD
Robert Fuller made a name for himself as a Wild Western actor after landing roles in TV shows and movies like Laramie and Wagon Train. He later moved on to portray Dr. Kelly Brackett in the medical drama Emergency! After this he continued to star in numerous TV shoes like Murder, She Wrote and more recently, he had a recurring role on Walker, Texas Ranger with Chuck Norris and Clarence Gilyard. He later moved from Las Vegas to North Texas to raise horses on a ranch. Now Robert is 85 and has retained his handsome looks and charm in his later years.

Bern Nadette Stanis is a successful African-American actress and author, who shot to stardom in the 1970’s as Thelma Ann Evans on the CBS sitcom Good Times. She also continued to work on various projects and although she has largely retired from acting, she has released four successful novels.
TIPPI HEDREN, 88 YEARS OLD
Fans will always remember Tippi Hedren from her outstanding performance in Alfred Hitchcock’s iconic movie The Birds. She was also a successful fashion model and has appeared in over eighty films and TV shows. Her acting credits include Charlie Chaplin’s final film, A Countess from Hong Kong, Citizen Ruth and the comedy I Heart Huckabees. She also passed on her amazing genes to her famous daughter Melanie Griffiths and granddaughter Dakota Johnson. She continues to make small acting appearances, but is more focused on her fundraising campaigns for different charities and wildlife preservation.
LEE MAJORS, 79 YEARS OLD
Lee Majors was a big-time star from the 1960’s to 1980’s. He peaked in popularity for his roles in the TV Western series The Big Valley, as well as The Six Million Dollar Man and The Fall Guy. He was also famously married to the Charlie’s Angels actress Farrah Fawcett, and even though they later divorced, he was still in contact with her in later years. Lee still remains active in the industry and was cast in movies like Do You Believe? in 2015 and the hip-hop dance-themed series Avengers of eXtreme Illusions in 2016.
PRISCILLA PRESLEY, 73 YEARS OLD
Priscilla Presley was just a teenager when she met and fell head over heals with the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley. The adorable couple later married and had a daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, before divorcing in 1973. Priscilla later went on to become the Chairwoman of of Elvis Presley Enterprises (EPE), and brought the company to new heights, eventually turned Graceland into one of the top tourist attractions. We bet you remember Lindsay Wagner as Jaime Sommers aka Bionic Woman in the sci-fi drama titled none other than Bionic Woman. Wagner has also written a few books, and led self-help therapy seminars and workshops across the U.S.
MARK HARMON, 67 YEARS OLD
Mark Harmon is all over television…it’s hard to miss him! This actor’s biggest role yet was on the hit TV show NCIS as Special Agent Jethro Gibbs. He has been in many more programs, most notably as Secret Service Special Agent Simon Donovan on The West Wing. This talented guy is still active in the industry, so keep an eye out for him!

Anyone who knows Tina Louise knows her from the show Gilligan’s Island where she played Ginger Grant. Although she never landed a role quite as big, she did play minor parts in both TV shows and films. The former President of the United States, Jimmy Carter, is still alive and well, at a whopping 94 years old. His foreign policy is what he’s best remembered for, and he continues to fight for human rights to this day. Unfortunately he was recently diagnosed with metastatic cancer, though he beat it, and is doing well.
DAWN WELLS, 79 YEARS OLD
Dawn Wells is another star known for her impressive role on Gilligan’s Island. Although she has since retired from acting, Dawn still claims it’s her passion. She currently helps local theater projects and teaches acting classes. She also runs a clothing company called the Wishing Wells Collection, a brand for disabled people.

English pop singer-songwriter Vera Lynn also went by the name “The Forces’ Sweetheart”. Her music career started in the middle of WWII, so she often entertained and comforted the soldiers. To mark her 100th birthday, she recently released an album called ‘Vera Lynn 100’. We don’t know what’s more impressive, the fact that she released an album at 100 years old, or that it reached #3 on the charts!
GENE REYNOLDS, 95 YEARS OLD
Gene Reynolds is known for his roles on both the big and small screen. Can you believe he was enjoying a wildly successful career when he got a letter from the army recruitment office. Although, we are happy to say he did go back to the industry after his service. After his great return, he decided to focus on directing and producing, later creating the hit show M*A*S*H.
SALLY STRUTHERS, 71 YEARS OLD
Sally Struthers played the beautiful Gloria Stivic on the sitcom All in the Family. Although she is currently 71 years old, she still continues to act in TV, film and theater projects. Sally is also very active in the philanthropic world, a spokeswoman for International Correspondence Schools and ChildFund.

HARRY BELAFONTE, 91 YEARS OLD
Belafonte is most famously known to be a singer and a social activist. While he may not have a thriving singing career anymore, he still remains quite active in the world of politics today. In addition, he also dabbled in the acting world, starring in films such as Bright Road and Carmen Jones. During the duration of his singing career, he recorded songs from several different genres such as gospel, blues, folk, and show tunes. These songs ended up winning Belafonte three Grammy Awards!

Though now happily retired, Downs made his career by being a broadcaster, TV host, news anchor, TV producer, and author. Clearly he is a man of many talents; he is best known for his roles on NBC’s Today in the 1960’s and 70’s. He served in the US Army during World War II, after which he decided to join the NBC radio. Downs was also a composer and hosted the PBS showcase for classical music from 1990 to 1996. Throughout his well-achieved career, he has done several works in film, such as A Global Affair and Nothing By Chance.
HERMAN WOUK, 103 YEARS OLD
A well-known author, Wouk’s books were translated into 27 languages throughout their time. His books became best-sellers, and soon enough, he began winning awards for his writing. He published both fiction and non-fiction novels, some of which became Broadway shows and even movies. In 2008, he presented the Library of Congress with his diaries, which he had been keeping track of since 1973. By 2012, he had turned in over 100 diaries! Understandably, he had a difficult time parting with his original diaries, so as a compromise, all his journals were scanned in order to let him keep the originals. He often used the diaries to reference dates and facts in his writings.

Some of Dick Van Dyke’s most recognizable work is from the movie Mary Poppins and his TV show The Dick Van Dyke Show. In addition to acting, he is also a known singer, comedian, and dancer. James Lipton is a writer, actor, lyricist, and is even the executive producer, writer, and host of the TV series Inside the Actors Studio. He wanted to put all of his acting knowledge to good use, so he created a three-year program at Pace University to help aspiring actors learn from the most talented people in the business. Lipton was originally studying to become a lawyer and acting on the side to finance his studies, but with time, he decided to stick with acting and later became a producer and a writer, among other things.
DAVID ATTENBOROUGH, 92 YEARS OLD
Attenborough is a famous broadcaster and naturalist, and bases his career around writing and presenting with the BBC Natural History Unit. Before he began his career, he served in the Royal Navy in North Wales. His career took off after he got a job editing children’s books at a publishing company, after which he took a job as a producer for BBC. His early career was not based around nature, but rather that came later on. Attenborough is still active in his field today. The rest, they say, is history!
CLORIS LEACHMAN, 92 YEARS OLD
Famous actress, Cloris Leachman had many films and shows she appeared in throughout her career. As if her seven decade-long career wasn’t impressive enough, she also earned herself the title as the oldest person to compete on Dancing With The Stars at the rightful age of 82. In her youth, she was a contestant in the 20th Miss America pageant, and finished at number 16. Not bad! Even today she is still active in Hollywood, keeping her impressive career alive.
NANCY OLSON, 90 YEARS OLD
Even though Nancy Olson has been retired from acting since the 1980’s, she still makes occasional small appearances in films or TV shows, her most recent being in 2014. Her career reached its peak in the 1940’s, and kept steady all the way until her retirement in 1980. Olson also made a gracious appearance on Broadway in the 1970’s.

Pierre Cardin is a French fashion designer, creating pieces that feature many geometric shapes and have an avant-garde style to them. He founded his own fashion house in 1950, and to this day his designs are famously adored worldwide.
ALICIA ALONSO, 96 YEARS OLD
Alicia Alonso is a world-famous ballerina; she made dancing her career and flourished, despite having vision difficulties. Her journey is truly unique, because at one point in her life she had to remain motionless in bed for an entire year due to an eye surgery. Even after a year without dancing or moving at all, she proudly returned to the stage with poise and became a star. Later in her life, Alonso created a dance school that was a big hit and ended up becoming Ballet Nacional de Cuba.
JOHN ASTIN, 88 YEARS OLD
Astin is commonly known for his role in the famous TV show The Addams Family. He has had a fantastic acting career, holding roles in many TV shows and films. He also acted in plays, even touring with a few shows. Nowadays he teaches acting and directing at the Theater Arts and Studies Department at Johns Hopkins University.

A beloved American actor and voice actor, Ed Asner has a wonderful career in Hollywood. His most recognizable role is Lou Grant, whom he played throughout the 1970’s and 80’s.
