Afraid of her premonitions becoming real, Stephanie told her husband, her friends, the doctors, the nurses, but no one would believe her since the data didn’t support her claims. Everybody just thought she was being hormonal and histrionic and that she was not making any sense. Then it happened, she died when she was giving birth to her second child. She was resuscitated after 37 seconds.

What happened during the labor was an amniotic fluid embolism, “a rare and often fatal condition (1 in 40,000) where amniotic cells get into the mother’s bloodstream, and if you happen to be allergic to it, your body goes into a type of anaphylaxis and in most cases, you don’t survive” Stephanie continues saying “The only reason I did survive, is because I spoke up and ONE DOCTOR listened to her intuition, flagged my file incorporating extra blood and a crash cart in the OR.” That same doctor told her after “I want to correct you, YOU saved your own life.”
