Based on what she knew about her birth, there was no reason for Anaïs to think she had a twin. She was sure it was a cousin or distant relative but was not interested in investigating further.
Her friends weren’t as intent on dismissing the search. They went behind Anaïs’s back and looked around the internet to see what they could find. They hoped to get some answers. The resemblance was too strong to ignore.

Anaïs’s friends came to her with what they found. After poking around online they found the girl in the photo. Her name was Samantha Futerman, and she was pictured for a trailer for the film “21 & Over.”
At this point, Anaïs could not ignore the situation. She began digging on her own.
