It is not easy to make a name for yourself in Hollywood. Meghan Markle has taken on small roles, such as a briefcase model in Deal or No Deal! The game show involves contestants trying to look for the sweetest “deal” among all the briefcases held up by beauties like her. They would then reveal how much money is inside after it is chosen. She was in 34 episodes spread out over several years. When she spoke to Esquire, she revealed, “I would put that in the category of things I was doing while I was auditioning to try to make ends meet. I went from working in the U.S. Embassy in Argentina to ending up on ‘Deal.’ It’s run the gamut. Definitely working on ‘Deal or No Deal’ was a learning experience, and it helped me to understand what I would rather be doing.”

Back then, she also honed a different skill that proved to be an asset as she tried to make it in Hollywood. Did you know that she is a calligrapher as well? She did freelance work in the craft during her early days as an actress. “I’ve always had a propensity for getting the cursive down pretty well. What it evolved into was my pseudo-waitressing job when I was auditioning. I didn’t wait tables. I did calligraphy for the invitations, for, like, Robin Thicke and Paula Patton’s wedding,” she said.
