Charlotte, Diana’s niece, told the Associated Press that Diana’s headpiece was giving her a headache! “I spent the early part of the day throwing a fashion show, which would normally tax an individual to the point of exhaustion,” he said during the interview. “I was given a strange little gold tiara that just didn’t seem appropriate, so I left, and the rest of the day has been a bit of a slog.” Regardless, Diana wore the CiCi (pronounced see-see) Tiara, passed down from the Spencer family for generations.

This couple’s relationship was damaged from the beginning, with a lot of tension. There are a few instances where Charles expresses his dislike for marriage. When his wedding was announced in 1981, for example, the interviewer covering the event asked the two newly engaged couples a series of questions, “Are you in love?” Diana replied, “Of course,” while Charles replied, “Whatever ‘in love’ means.”
