The wedding of Charles and Diana was so lavish that it was declared a national holiday and a public holiday in the United Kingdom. The summer vacation this year began on July 29, 1981. Following the union, our citizens, like their English counterparts, were ecstatic. They decided to tell the rest of the world about their joy. The 29th of December has been designated as a national holiday for this reason.
