Many people believe that the royal family had not given them the green light before the news broke. The royals were reportedly surprised as well as “disappointed.” However, we doubt it came as much of a surprise. There was a lot of evidence that they were interested in a royal exit months before it actually happened. For one thing, instead of spending Christmas at Sandringham, they chose to spend it on Vancouver Island, Canada. They also avoided public appearances.

The Queen allegedly barred the Duchess of Sussex from seeing some of the Royal Collection’s pieces. According to reports, she is more lenient with Kate Middleton. Gavin Gray explained, “There was this row where Meghan wanted this particular necklace, Harry said ‘Meghan gets what Meghan wants,’ and the Queen turned around and said ‘oh, no, she doesn’t. I decide what necklace is going to be worn out of the Royal Collection.’” There appears to be more than this when it comes to the rumored feud between the two duchesses.
