Service dogs would normally go on patrol with other officers, but Kyle just wouldn’t respond to others the way he did to Officer John. The two made a wonderful team and shared a special friendship. John adopted Kyle, so the two were on constant duty.

Parting Ways
When Kyle’s time on the force came to an end, John tried to hold him, but he could not take care of him when he went on duty. He tried to do what was best for that dog, so he allowed him to be adopted by the Smiths. Officer John, however, definitely felt sad to be away from his partner.
