50 Fast Food Items You Should Never Order

Published on 11/14/2019

Sometimes fast food items are even worse than simply being unhealthy for your body to consume. Workers from chains like McDonald’s, Burger King, Taco Bell, and Domino’s took to a Reddit post to warn customers of the gross unknown activities certain restaurants were doing. After hearing from them, it’s been made clear that these issues are much bigger than anyone expected.

Burger King- Chicken Sandwich

It’s not just Burger King- ordering a chicken sandwich at a restaurant that is famously known for selling hamburgers is usually not a good idea. A chicken sandwich from Burger King has likely been sitting in the warmer for hours because no one has ordered it all day. Your safest option is to just order a burger.

Burger King- Chicken Sandwich

Friendly’s- Tuna Salad

Somebody who used to be employed by this restaurant has said that the beloved tuna salad at Friendly’s was actually hiding a big secret: the fact that a batch is only made once a week! Along with some of the other things that could be prepared ahead of time, this comes as a big food sanitation red flag. It’s best to steer clear of these items.

Friendly’s- Tuna Salad

Sonic- Ice Cream

Just like getting ice cream at any fast food restaurant, ordering some soft serve from Sonic can be pretty shady. A Reddit user said that most new employees never actually receive proper training on how to maintain and clean the ice cream machines, and once that user actually did clean it, they found that it was absolutely covered in mold. No thanks!

Sonic- Ice Cream

Burger King- Chicken Fries

Here we are again, faced with another horrible chicken item served by Burger King. Little do most consumers know, but chicken fries are sometimes kept sitting out for up to six hours before being served or (hopefully) thrown away.

Burger King- Chicken Fries

McDonald’s- Filet-O-Fish

Just like Burger King, McDonald’s is not famously known for being a fish restaurant. Sure, you can order fish here, but it likely won’t be so good. If you want to be sure you are getting freshly-cooked food at McDonald’s, try to stick to ordering a burger.

McDonald’s- Filet-O-Fish

Culver’s- Veggie Burger

Just as you would expect, Culver’s does not generally have a mass amount of people coming in to order their veggie burgers. Because of this, they keep uncooked burgers in the freezer until someone orders one. All of this is okay, but here’s where it gets tricky for the veggie lover… veggie burgers from Culver’s are taken out of the freezer and cooked on the same grill with the same utensils as regular burgers. Not so great for someone trying to avoid meat.

Culver’s- Veggie Burger

Arby’s- Roast Beef

This one is a bit gross, fair warning. Apparently, Arby’s roast beef is not actually in solid form when it first arrives to the restaurant chains. The roast beef is arrives at the chain as a bag of meat paste that solidifies on its own after being cooked in the oven. The roast beef is simply mechanically separated pieces of beef mixed with fat and made into a huge bag of paste.

Arby’s- Roast Beef

Taco Bell- Beans

Despite the beans being a staple food in Taco Bell’s menu, they aren’t as authentic and fresh as some people may think. They actually come delivered to each location in a bag and simply require water in order to make them into the food we all know them as.

Taco Bell- Beans

Jimmy John’s- Gourmet Veggie Club

This one may come as a surprise to a lot of people, since a veggie club sounds like it should be a pretty healthy choice in comparison to some other food options! Here’s the unfortunate news, though: a 16-inch sandwich made on 9-grain wheat bread contains over 2,000 calories plus high sodium, fat, and sugar. Eating multiple big mac’s actually isn’t so much worse for you than this sandwich…

Jimmy John’s- Gourmet Veggie Club

Domino’s- Sandwiches

If you’re like most people in the world, you had absolutely no clue that Domino’s even sold sandwiches! One former employee decided to tell us just how horrible they can be, especially the Philly steak or American cheese sandwich. Since those are only used on sandwiches and most people don’t order said sandwiches, you can probably imagine that the ingredients are always going to be less than fresh.

Domino’s- Sandwiches

Starbucks- Secret Menu

Truth be told, there is really no such thing as “the secret menu” at Starbucks. The secret menu isn’t some hidden piece of paper that all baristas have slipped under the cash register. No, it just doesn’t exist. Instead of insisting on ordering a drink that doesn’t exist, Starbucks baristas around the world insist that you should order a real drink and customize it to your liking.

Starbucks- Secret Menu

Panda Express- Orange Chicken

This one was shocking and extremely disappointing to hear. Just like any other restaurant, Panda Express does not throw away the food that has been sitting out during a slow hour. Instead, they simply glaze some fresh sauce on top of the old chicken and make it appear to be good as new to the unsuspecting customer.

Panda Express- Orange Chicken

Chipotle- Tacos

Don’t worry, this slide isn’t something gross. Mainly because nothing about Chipotle can ever be bad. Nonetheless, we do have some news for you. When you order a taco at Chipotle, you are seriously depriving yourself of a lot of food! For the same price, you could order a bowl and get way more food. The best part? Side tortillas are free!

Chipotle- Tacos

Sonic- Chili

This may not be surprising, but Sonic’s chili is not made fresh on the spot. It comes in a prepackaged bag and it is tossed into a warmer first thing in the morning. After that, it sits around until someone orders it. You truly never know if the chili you’re ordering was just made or if it’s been sitting out for six hours.

Sonic- Chili

McDonald’s- Milkshakes

It’s a worldwide joke that McDonald’s ice cream and milkshake machine is broken half the time, but that’s actually real, not just a joke. Though the machine does get cleaned on occasion if the machine breaks it does not get cleaned until it’s fixed, in which time the milk spoils and sticks to the machine. Basically, this machine is never as sanitary as it should be.

McDonald’s- Milkshakes

Little Caesar’s- Breadsticks

I know they say a dog is a man’s best friend, but in reality, I think breadsticks are a man’s best friend. There’s nothing to not love about a nice warm, buttery breadstick with some garlic on top… unless said breadstick is from Little Caesar’s. Apparently, the butter that comes on your breadsticks from Little Caesar’s isn’t actually butter, but rather some fake tub of something mysterious that doesn’t get refrigerated.

Little Caesar’s- Breadsticks

Wendy’s- Chili

Wendy’s is famous for claiming that their beef is always fresh and never frozen. The frozen part could be true, but the fresh part, not so much. If you ever find yourself craving Wendy’s chili in the near future, keep in mind that once cooked, a batch of chili can be kept around for up to seven days and served to customers. Yes, seven whole days. Fresh? Not really.

Wendy’s- Chili

KFC- Barbecue Chicken

KFC barbecue chicken may be one of the least-fresh things we’ve ever seen. Like, ever ever. According to a KFC employee, this chicken can be soaked in barbecue marinade for up to an entire month before being served to a customer. Month old chicken can’t even be donated to a homeless shelter, but KFC is serving it to its customers regularly. Let that one sink in.

KFC- Barbecue Chicken

Jack-In-The-Box- Smoothies or Milkshakes

According to a Jack-In-The-Box employee, nobody ever cleans the blender, at least not frequently whatsoever. That’s right, the same blender that’s used to make every flavor of milkshake and fruit smoothie doesn’t get cleaned between orders. Next time you order a strawberry smoothie here, don’t be surprised to find Oreo bits inside!

Jack-In-The-Box- Smoothies or Milkshakes

Steak ‘N Shake- Wisconsin Butter Burger

It was difficult to even put into perspective what exactly is inside of these burgers. Apparently, these burgers contain a quarter stick of butter! Nothing, especially something from a fast-food restaurant, can be so delicious that it is worth risking a heart attack to eat. Save your arteries the stress and order something a bit healthier.

Steak ‘N Shake- Wisconsin Butter Burger

Panera- Pasta

This one is heartbreaking to hear. Nothing, absolutely nothing, about the pasta from Panera Bread is fresh. That includes the dearly beloved macaroni and cheese that everyone fawns over. This macaroni and cheese comes frozen and is tossed in the microwave to heat up like leftovers from last night whenever it is ordered. Talk about disappointing.

Panera- Pasta

Subway- Oven-Roasted Chicken Sandwich

The thought of oven-roasted chicken sounds delightful to the tastebuds, but sadly, that’s not truly what’s going on here. The meat here is actually more likely to be heavily overcooked in a microwave and then put on a bun and called oven-roasted, than actually being oven-roasted. Not as nice to think about, huh?

Subway- Oven-Roasted Chicken Sandwich

Einstein Bagels- Eggs

As you can likely imagine, the eggs here aren’t fresh. After all, it’s not normal for eggs to come served in perfect circles. Usually, these eggs are tossed in the microwave to heat up and then placed in a bin until someone orders them. There’s no real way to know how long something has been sitting out, so you’re taking a big risk.

Einstein Bagels- Eggs

Panera- Pastries

If you think these pastries are baked fresh in-house each day, we have some heartbreaking news for you. These pastries get delivered to Panera chains frozen, just like the pasta dishes, and they are thawed and served as needed. This is definitely far from fresh.

Panera- Pastries

Sonic- Chicken Sandwich

Though it wasn’t exactly elaborated on, a former Sonic employee shared the important detail that chicken from this fast-food chain is not actually chicken. They didn’t say what it was, but “not chicken” is enough detail for us to be grossed out. On top of not being chicken, they said that this food item is usually sitting out longer waiting to be eaten because it’s not as popular or frequently-ordered as the burgers.

Sonic- Chicken Sandwich

McDonald’s- McCafe

Any McDonald’s employee will stand in unison here in telling you not to order anything from the McCafe menu. Generally, McDonald’s staff aren’t properly trained on how to clean these machines, so anytime you order one of their McCafe drinks, it’s more likely than not that your drink is being made via a disgustingly dirty machine.

McDonald’s- McCafe

Dunkin’ Donuts- Donuts

Are you just as surprised by this as we are? Apparently those donuts that are advertised as being freshly made aren’t so fresh after all. They’re actually delivered frozen from delivery trucks each day and thawed out before being served to customers. Pretty disappointing, if you ask us.

Dunkin’ Donuts- Donuts

Wendy’s- Fries

One of the tricky things about french fries is that since they aren’t meat or dairy, it’s more difficult to draw the line as to when something is no longer fresh. French fries, in particular, can sit out for quite some time before being eaten and not taste much different than they would fresh out of the fryer. Apparently, Wendy’s employees love throwing around the phrase “They Aren’t Old Until They’re Sold” in regards to their fries. Yikes…

Wendy’s- Fries

KFC- Original Chicken

According to a former employee, KFC stops making fresh chicken at a certain point in the day, so if you were planning on going shortly before their closing time, you probably shouldn’t. You run the risk of being served chicken that’s been sitting under lights for hours or, even worse, chicken that has been dropped on the floor and placed back onto a serving plate.

KFC- Original Chicken

McDonald’s- Dipped Ice Cream Cone

A former employee spilled all of the gossip about these ice cream cones. Apparently the chocolate is just left out all day, and you know what happens when something like this gets left out. The top layer of the chocolate will harden and get to the point where it shouldn’t be eaten, but employees just re-mix it so that the parts that are still liquid are on the top. No thanks.

McDonald’s- Dipped Ice Cream Cone

Burger King- Shakes

Just like McDonald’s, the ice cream and milkshake machines at Burger King are apparently rarely- if ever- cleaned. To top off this gross thought, most of the time the shake mixes (that’s right, mix, not simply ice cream and milk) are expired. Yuck!

Burger King- Shakes

Starbucks- Food

This one isn’t necessarily gross, per se, unless you’re one who dislikes pre-packaged, frozen foods. In which case, I’d just go ahead and avoid every food item that Starbucks sells. All of their food, pastries included, comes either pre-packaged or frozen and reheated. Not a single food item is fresh. Not only this, but everything is extremely overpriced for the fact that it was taken out of a freezer.

Starbucks- Food

Dunkin’ Donuts- Coolatta

This seems like a broken record saying at this point, but the Dunkin’ Donuts Coolatta is prepared in a machine that is rarely cleaned and, in turn, is quite dirty. This seems super unappealing, and I think I’ll take a big giant pass on ordering one of these.

Dunkin’ Donuts- Coolatta

McDonald’s- McRib

If you’re curious as to what is in the McRib, we’ll give you a hint- it’s not rib meat. This McDonald’s sandwich is made out of pig tripe, hearts, and stomachs. That does not sound appealing whatsoever, and on top of that, we’re hardly certain that it’s made fresh-to-order for each customer.

McDonald’s- McRib

Burger King- Decaf Coffee

You should absolutely stay away from this coffee, particularly if there is a health reason as to why you’re choosing decaf over regular coffee. According to a former Burger King employee, decaf coffee is not really decaf, but instead, it’s just watered down regular coffee. Super shady, Burger King.

Burger King- Decaf Coffee

Steak ‘N Shake- BLT

Again, this one isn’t super gross, but it’s pretty shady, to say the least. A Steak ‘N Shake employee has said that their BLT is actually a huge ripoff when you actually are aware of the amount of food you’re receiving. It’s not uncommon for employees to cut corners with ingredients, especially bacon, in order to cut costs on their end. Basically, you’re paying full-price but only getting 80 percent of the food you should be getting.

Steak ‘N Shake- BLT

Panera- Soup

Just like their pasta and pastries, Panera soup is never fresh. It comes in a bag and is placed in something called a “re-thermalizer”, which is really just a sink filled with boiling hot water and left to thaw out. Often times the bags of soup pop open while they’re thawing, and let’s just say, these re-thermalizers are not washed very frequently.

Panera- Soup

Tim Hortons- Soup

If you have ever been to this popular Canadian fast-food chain, you may understand just what a craze this place is in Canada. Not to be the bearer of bad news, but the soup at Tim Hortons is not made fresh. It comes frozen and has to be thawed out, and employees have even claimed to find maggots in the soups on more than one occasion.

Tim Hortons- Soup

Jersey Mike’s- Chicken Parmesan

Someone took to Reddit to say that, quite frankly, the chicken parmesan is the only thing on their menu that they refuse to order. The chicken parmesan is just a frozen chicken patty that has been microwaved into a pile of breaded mush. It then gets placed onto some bread and called chicken parmesan.

Jersey Mike’s- Chicken Parmesan

Dairy Queen- Salads

Talk about not ordering food at a place that is not known for said food… ordering a salad at dairy queen is a big red flag. They have recently reduced the size of their salads, but they also changed the size of the bowls to make it look like nothing is different than it was before. That seems like a bit of a ripoff to me.

Dairy Queen- Salads

Dunkin’ Donuts- Hot Chocolate

A former Dunkin’ Donuts employee posted a big secret on Reddit about the hot chocolate that everyone loves to order when it’s cold outside. Apparently, every cup of hot chocolate from Dunkin’ Donuts contains thickening agents, including Cellulose Gum and Xanthan Gum. If the drink was fresh and had only the ingredients it should have, it wouldn’t need thickening agents.

Dunkin’ Donuts- Hot Chocolate

Jimmy John’s- Tea

If you go into Jimmy John’s in the morning or early around lunchtime, you should be okay, but any later than that you’re likely not going to get fresh tea. The whole batch of tea is brewed at 5 o’clock in the morning by the manager who opens for the day and is generally never replaced throughout the day unless they run out.

Jimmy John’s- Tea

Little Caesar’s- Chicken Wings

If you know anything about cooking pizza and/or chicken, you’ll understand why this is so gross. Little Caesar’s tends to cook their chicken wings in the same pans as the pizza, and usually for the same amount of time. Other than sanitation reasons, why is this bad? Chicken takes much longer to cook than pizza, thus resulting in mostly raw chicken being served to you.

Little Caesar’s- Chicken Wings

Burger King- Whopper Junior

Whopper Juniors aren’t generally ordered by customers who are old enough to have currently or already passed having “teen” at the end of their age. Because this burger only targets a small number of people, it’s pretty likely that this item has been sitting around the kitchen under a heating lamp for a while.

Burger King- Whopper Junior

McDonald’s- Sweet Tea

A large sweet tea from McDonald’s has 38 grams of sugar, which is far more sugar than you are supposed to consume in an entire day! To put it into perspective, an entire candy bar has fewer grams of sugar than this sweet tea from McDonald’s. For every gallon of tea, one pound of sugar is poured in. That is far more sugar than I can even imagine.

McDonald’s- Sweet Tea

Subway- Roast Beef

A former Subway employee wasn’t shy in their description of the roast beef sandwich that they have to offer. Apparently, this roast beef has such a high amount of preservatives inside that it was seen as being an “iridescent” color. Honestly, we don’t even want to imagine this. We can’t imagine anything worse.

Subway- Roast Beef

Sheetz- Burgers

According to a former Sheetz employee, all of the grill markers that you see on their burgers are totally fake, as their burgers are actually cooked in the microwave. They took this fake grilling really far instead of just letting it be. It almost makes it worse that they took the extra step to pretend they are grilled. Gross.

Sheetz- Burgers

Firehouse Subs- Steak Or Chicken

A formed Firehouse Subs employee said that if you are not planning on ordering a sandwich that contains sliced meat or meatballs, to just not order anything. They said that the steak usually comes frozen and is extremely greasy after being cooked and that the chicken also comes frozen in a bag. Definitely not worth paying for something so gross.

Firehouse Subs- Steak Or Chicken

White Castle- Hash Round Nibblers

You would think that hashbrowns would be relatively similar everywhere, but sadly, that is definitely not the case with White Castle. Their hash round nibblers have 1,440 calories and 110 grams of fat in one sharing bag. For something that should just be potatoes, that seems like far too much.

White Castle- Hash Round Nibblers

Burger King- Fish Sandwiches

If you are looking for a place with delicious fish sandwiches, Burger King should not be your final destination. They are not known at all for their fish products, therefore these sandwiches tend to just sit out all day until someone orders one. In addition, the fish itself is not good quality, to begin with.

Burger King- Fish Sandwiches

Auntie Anne’s- Jumbo Jalapeno Cheese Pretzel Dog

This food item contains no health sanitation risks, as Auntie Anne’s itself is a great place. This particular item, though, may make your arteries explode. The jumbo jalapeno cheese pretzel dog contains 650 calories, 31 grams of fat, and 1,360 milligrams of sodium (about half of your daily sodium intake) in a hot dog that is just a few bites. No thank you.

Auntie Anne’s- Jumbo Jalapeno Cheese Pretzel Dog

Moe’s Southwest Grill- Homewrecker Burrito With Chicken

Finding a healthy burrito is not an impossible task, but do not expect to find this at Moe’s Southwest Grill. Their homewrecker burrito with chicken contains 945 calories and 1,859 milligrams of sodium. Despite the fact that a burrito contains vegetables and things that generally are healthy, there are also things in this that make it a horrible option.

Moe’s Southwest Grill- Homewrecker Burrito With Chicken

Dunkin’ Donuts- Hot Drinks

Again, this is not for a sanitary issue, but a monetary one. If you’re going to Dunkin’ Donuts for a cup of coffee- like many people in America to every day- we recommend you get a cold drink. For the same size, you’re getting more with a cold drink, as the cups are much larger even though they’re marketed as the same.

Dunkin’ Donuts Hot Drinks

P.F. Chang’s- Chicken Pad Thai

Wow, buckle your seatbelts for this huge news. The chicken pad thai from P.F. Chang’s contains 1,230 calories, 2,590 milligrams of sodium, and 43 grams of sugar- which is well over your daily recommended value. This is heartbreaking, yet also disgusting, news to find out.

P.F. Chang’s- Chicken Pad Thai

Chick-Fil-A- Grilled Foods

It is no secret that Chick-Fil-A serves up some incredible chicken items. Their service is impeccable and their food is delicious, but not so much if you’re gluten-free. If you try to steer clear of gluten, you should also steer clear of Chick-Fil-A. They tend to use the same grill on breaded and non-breaded items without cleaning between orders.

Chick-Fil-A- Grilled Foods

Church’s Chicken- Cob Sandwich

It seems like a sandwich that solely contains chicken and vegetables would be a healthy option, but you are sorely mistaken if you thought that was the case here. Church’s Chicken cob sandwich contains 810 calories and 1,460 milligrams of sodium. That is far from healthy for the kind of ingredients inside.

Church’s Chicken- Cob Sandwich

Sbarro: 16 Inch Meat Primo Pizza

This has nothing to do with Sbarro as a sanitary precaution, but this may hurt your stomach just to read, let alone eat. The 16-inch meat primo pizza from Sbarro has 4,610 calories and 11,440 milligrams of sodium. Yes, you read that correctly. This pizza contains over 4,000 calories and over 11,000 milligrams of sodium.

Sbarro- 16 Inch Meat Primo Pizza

Buffalo Wild Wings- Anything That Isn’t Wings

The good news is that their staple dish is fresh and tastes great, but the bad news is that pretty much anything other than their staple dish comes frozen and prepackaged, sitting in the freezer waiting for you to order it.

Buffalo Wild Wings- Anything That Isn’t Wings

Hardee’s- Charbroiled 2/3 Pound Monster Thickburger

If you think something called a monster thickburger is super unhealthy, that’s because it absolutely is as unhealthy as they come. The 2/3 pound monster thickburger has 1,329 calories, 95 grams of fat, and 2,820 milligrams of sodium- not including if you also order fries and a drink on the side!

Hardee’s- Charbroiled 2 3 Pound Monster Thickburger

7-Eleven- Anything From The Food Warmer

Most people tend to not buy these food items anyway, so if you’re going to 7-Eleven at any time other than early in the morning, odds are that these food items- hot dogs, taquitos, or anything else cooked in the warmer- has been sitting out since the store opened around 5 o’clock that morning. We’d stay away if possible.

7-Eleven- Anything From The Food Warmer

Dairy Queen- Anything Other Than A Blizzard Or Hamburger

Dairy Queen is known and beloved for its ice cream, specifically the mind-blowingly delicious blizzards. If you must order food, don’t order anything other than a classic hamburger. These are made to order, but anything else on the menu has probably been sitting out for a while or has been super frozen for quite some time.

Dairy Queen- Anything Other Than A Blizzard Or Hamburger

Popeye’s- Shrimp Po’Boy

Other than the fact that Popeye’s is not famously known for their seafood, making a shrimp po’boy at the bottom of your to-eat list, to begin with, this particular item should be avoided at all costs. The shrimp po’boy from Popeye’s contains 660 calories, 41 grams of fat, and 1,980 milligrams of sodium. Definitely not worth it.

Popeye’s- Shrimp Po’Boy

Denny’s- Grand Slamwich With Hashbrowns

Breakfast may be the most important meal of the day, but that is definitely not the case if this is what you’re planning on putting into your body. The grand slamwich with hashbrowns is chock-full of calories and sodium; it has 1,320 calories and 3,320 milligrams of sodium. That is more than half of your caloric needs and more than your entire sodium recommendation before lunch!

Denny’s- Grand Slamwich With Hashbrowns

Tim Horton’s- Anything Other Than Bagels Or Donuts

If we’re seeing any sort of trend here, it’s that you shouldn’t buy anything at a coffee shop other than coffee and bagels. Just like Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts, all the rest of the food at Tim Horton’s comes to the stores frozen and may run the risk of not being stored properly before being served to you.

Tim Horton’s- Anything Other Than Bagels Or Donuts

Cinnabon- Caramel Pecanbon

It’s pretty much something you should just expect for a cinnabon to be unhealthy, especially a specialty flavor such as the caramel pecanbon. These numbers may exceed all expectations, though. With 1,080 calories and 960 milligrams of sodium, this treat takes the cake for the more unhealthy item on the menu at Cinnabon.

Cinnabon- Caramel Pecanbon

A&W- Breakfast Food After Breakfast Time

If you’re someone who wakes up late or simply likes eating breakfast later in the day, don’t let this upset you. If you tend to go to A&W for breakfast after breakfast hours, you shouldn’t stop, just beware that you may have a long wait, as employees don’t prep these food items later in the day.

A&W- Breakfast Food After Breakfast Time

Long John Silver’s- Baja Fish Tacos

Most people think that eating fish for dinner is a healthier alternative rather than eating a burger or something with a lot of fat in it, but in this case, that isn’t accurate. Long John Silver’s tacos come with no less than 820 calories, 42 grams of fat, and 2,580 milligrams of sodium. That is the caloric count for one taco. Imagine if you were to eat an entire meal’s worth of these tacos. We’re going to pass, but thanks.

Long John Silver’s- Baja Fish Tacos

Johnny Rockets- Bacon Cheddar Double Hamburger

It’s not really expected that this food item would be healthy; cheeseburgers aren’t generally so nutritious to begin with, especially when it’s a double burger… and then adding bacon makes it much worse. This burger has 1,770 calories and 2,380 milligrams of sodium. We can think of many things we’d rather eat for 1,770 calories.

Johnny Rockets- Bacon Cheddar Double Hamburger

Steak ‘N Shake- Chili

Besides the fact that Steak ‘N Shake is just not the kind of place you would want to go to eat chili in the first place, you probably should stay away from it even if you are craving some chili while you’re there. The stations rarely get cleaned out and the grease that is used for the chili is very, very rarely changed out.

Steak ‘N Shake- Chili

Bojangle’s- Chicken Rice Bowl With A Biscuit

Usually people tend to think that chicken and rice is harmless; not necessarily packed with nutrients, but nothing to phone home about. At Bojangle’s, that’s definitely not the situation. The Bojangle’s chicken rice bowl with a biscuit on the side will cost you 1,130 calories, 126 grams of carbs, and 4,370 milligrams of sodium. Just a reminder that the daily sodium recommendation is 2,300 milligrams.

Bojangle’s- Chicken Rice Bowl With A Biscuit

Carl’s Jr- Thickburger El Diablo

Carl’s Jr. takes fast food’s artery-clogging abilities to new heights with the new Thickburger El Diablo. This isn’t just a burger; it has multiple deep-fried jalapeno poppers, cheese, pickles, bacon, sauce, and an insane amount of beef on it. Not only does it come packed with over half of your daily caloric intake at 1,290 calories, but it also has 85 grams of fat.

Carl’s Jr- Thickburger El Diablo

Checkers- Chili

Similar to ordering chili at other fast food restaurants, the chili at Checkers often gets reheated if it’s been sitting out for a while without anyone buying it instead of making a new batch for customers, and a lot of times it’s filled with mystery items such as old hamburgers or other ingredients they had lying around that don’t usually belong in a fresh bowl of chili.

Checkers- Chili

California Pizza Kitchen- Jamaican Jerk Chicken Thin Crust Pizza

Just because it’s a thin crust pizza and just because it’s loaded with veggies and grilled chicken, that clearly does not make it healthy. This pizza is packed with calories- 1,320 to be exact. Not to mention its sodium level which is 3,960 milligrams in a pizza. Don’t let the vegetables fool you, this pizza is far from nutritious.

California Pizza Kitchen- Jamaican Jerk Chicken Thin Crust

Jersey Mike’s- Meatball Sub

Jersey Mike’s has a loyal fanbase of people who will always choose to grab a sandwich from here rather than another sub joint, but if we’re being honest, there are a couple of menu options you should probably stay away from. One of those items is the meatball sub. It comes prepackaged and is kept in the freezer until someone orders it, where it then quickly gets boiled in water and served to the customer. The meat is in no way, shape, or form fresh.

Jersey Mike’s- Meatball Sub

Pizza Hut- Deep Dish Pizza

It’s not super common for someone to order a deep dish pizza at Pizza Hut, which means that there’s something off about what goes on behind the scenes. When something is rarely ordered, it’s generally not always up to customer standards. In this case, it’s the dish that the pizza is cooked in. The deep dish pizza pans can be difficult to clean all the way, so employees simply toss the crust-ridden pan in the dishwasher. This not only doesn’t clean this pan properly, but also likely will get other pans dirtier.

Pizza Hut- Deep Dish Pizza

Quiznos- Large Turkey Bacon Guacamole Sub

Don’t let the guacamole and the fact that it’s a sandwich fool you. The Turkey Bacon Guacamole Sub from Quiznos has 1,300 calories, 69 grams of fat, and 3,870 milligrams of sodium. That seems almost so bad that it’s fake, but we promise you, it’s very much real.

Quiznos- Large Turkey Bacon Guacamole Sub

Taco John’s- Any Meal With Beans

Employees at Taco John’s make the beans in a large vat at the beginning of the day and then let them sit under a warmer all day long. Not even if they get too dry do they toss them out to make a fresh batch. What do they do? Add some water, of course! We’d definitely recommend staying away from these.

Taco John’s- Any Meal With Beans

Five Guys- French Fries

Though these french fries may be one of the less harmfull items on the Five Guys menu, that definitely does not qualify them as being healthy. Just because they are cooked in peanut oil, that also does not qualify them as being healthy. In fact, just one single serving of fries from Five Guys has 953 calories and 962 milligrams of salt- assuming that you’re not adding extra salt onto them on your own.

Five Guys- French Fries

Panera Lemonade

A person who used to work at Panera Bread had said that the lemonade is not something you’d want to get. They had to mix the lemonade and passion papaya green tea using concentrate and water from the sink. It’s wasn’t very fresh, and it was super sugary.

Panera Lemonade

Panera Lemonade

Popeyes Bonafide Chicken Combo

If you’re thinking that ordering chicken is a healthier choice to get while eating at a fast-food place, you’d be wrong. The Bonafide Chicken Combo that comes with the corn on the cob and a biscuit has up to 1,434 calories. If you also have a slice of pecan pie for dessert, the whole meal can be 1,900 calories.

Dunkin’ Donuts Coolattas

A former Dunkin’ employee said never to buy the Coolattas. “The machines at the one I worked were hardly cleaned.” In addition, there have been many stories about frozen drinks and ice machines. Everything from mold to critters hang out there.

Dunkin’ Donuts Coolattas

Dunkin’ Donuts Coolattas

Fountain Soda

You’d be surprised about how dirty ice machines are – especially the ones on top of soda fountains. One worker from Jimmy Johns has said that despite meticulously cleaning the ice machines every single night, they would still find a significant amount of grit in there.
