Sadly, there were friendships that were not meant to last forever. The truth was that his time at Mendenhall Glacier Park would not last for much longer. He was about to suffer a terrible fate, not unlike his namesake.

A Tragedy
Romeo got his name from a character in a tragedy. His tragic end came in 2009. He was shot and killed by hunters. Those who lived in the area were saddened by the loss of the wolf. The Juneau community even held a memorial service for him and got a plaque for him. There is no way they will forget him.
