Here Are Our Predictions For The Free Agency This Year

Trust us, the free agency this year is going to be fascinating. After all, we have several quarterbacks joining the market. It is hard to predict what is going to happen. These free agents are going to have a big impact on the state of the league. We are not fortune tellers who can tell you for sure what will happen. However, it has never hurt to make predictions! Here is what we think will happen…

Derrick Henry

It might take him several games before he gets going, but he is a real beast once he does. The offensive plan of Tennessee relies on Derick Henry hammering the ball! It is hard to believe that they would just let him walk away. Detroit and Kansas City look like they might suit him, but we bet that the Titans will pay him a handsome amount to make him stay for the next few seasons at the very least.

Derrick Henry

Derrick Henry

Dante Fowler

The best pass rusher in Los Angeles has been none other than Dante Fowler. Yep, he even bypassed Aaron Donald in our books. However, a lot of the money in the Rams goes to the other members of the team. The team also finds it hard to get Michael Brockers on the team. Arizona has better cash flow and plans to add an edge rush that can work with Chandler Jones. Could that guy be Dante Fowler?

Dante Fowler

Dante Fowler

Chris Jones

It is not a secret that Chris Jones is one of the most versatile defensive players in the NFL right now. He is great at commanding double teams, which he does on nearly every play. As a defensive end, he has demonstrated impressive agility on the field. He is still in his mid-20s, so he can command a hefty contract. We are sure that the Kansas City Chiefs will do everything in its power to keep him around.

Chris Jones

Chris Jones

Marcus Peters

He has made a name for himself as a talented yet volatile player. During the NFL Draft, the Rams took him in as a fifth-round pick. However, he was shipped out to the Baltimore Ravens later on. He has since returned to Pro Bowl form! He got three interceptions in only six games with them by Week 14. If he continues to show us what he is made of, we are sure that Baltimore would like to keep him around.

Marcus Peters

Marcus Peters

Michael Brockers

Brockers has demonstrated that he is a solid player ever since he got drafted out of LSU. Even though he is not to sort of guy people would notice on the screen, he is a very dependable starting defensive tackle. The Rams have a lot of money tied up with Todd Gurley, Brandin Cooks, Jared Goff, and Aaron Donald. The Rams are now trying to resign Jalen Ramsey and Cooper Kupp, so Brockers might not return. We bet that he will end up with the Denver Broncos.

Michael Brockers

Michael Brockers

Shaq Thompson

People expected Oakland to have only two linebackers with them as we headed into the offseason. Thompson was a great player for Carolina. In college, he proved his skills as a safety and showed off just how strong and versatile he is. Apart from that, he is also skilled at run support. With the Raiders, he will represent his home base of the Bay Area for another year before the team moves out to Las Vegas.

Shaq Thompson

Shaq Thompson

Byron Jones

Do we really have to put this one on the list? It is a no-brainer. Rumor says that Dallas won’t offer an extension to Jones because of a potential contract with Dak Prescott. In the previous offseason, the Houston Texans lost Kareem Jackson to the Denver Broncos. On top of that, starters Johnathan Joseph and Bradley Roby will be free agents. Houston has to do everything it could to land a guy who is among the best defensive backs in the free agency. In our opinion, that is none other than Byron Jones.

Byron Jones

Byron Jones

Melvin Gordon

Fair enough, Melvin Gordon did not look great after holding out for an extension that did not come. We are not saying that it is impossible to return to Pro Bowl, but the Chargers look like they are happier with the cheaper alternative: Austin Ekeler. However, we can’t deny that Gordon is good at catching passes out of the backfield. The Kansas City Chiefs could use a lead running back like him, so this sounds like a match made in heaven.

Melvin Gordon

Melvin Gordon

Vonn Bell

Thus far, the previous season was the best year of his career. Vonn Bell has shown how good he is as a ball hawk on the back end. His run support has been solid as well. It looks like things are finally going right for the former first-round pick. We are eager to see what he does next since the possibilities seem endless even though he has yet to make it to Pro Bowl. However, we do think that New Orleans might view him as overpriced. We will go with Arizona Cardinals for this one.

Vonn Bell

Vonn Bell

Bud Dupree

By Week 14, Bud Dupree already notched a career-high record of 8.5 sacks. The former first-round pick has been an integral part of the emerging defense of Pittsburgh. The Steelers managed to create a great core group of players in the 20s. Aside from him, they also have Minkah Fitzpatrick, T.J. Watt, and Devin Bush under lock. We bet that they will resign Dupree to keep the crew together.

Bud Dupree

Bud Dupree

Drew Brees

To be honest with you, it is hard to imagine Drew Brees with another franchise. He has already lost some of his fastball, but he still plays at a pretty high level when all is said and done. On top of that, the community loves him! We are guessing that he will re-up on a short contract in the hopes that the New Orleans Saints will win the Super Bowl sooner than later.

Drew Brees

Drew Brees

Yannick Ngakoue

If Jacksonville wants Yannick Ngakoue, they would first have to unload part of what they paid Nick Foles. It is not a secret that the defensive end is one of the crown jewels of this class. The Jags might not want him back, but we are sure that the Indianapolis Colts are interested in him since they need a ton of cap space and a defensive end. This sounds like a perfect fit in our books.

Yannick Ngakoue

Yannick Ngakoue

Brandon Scherff

Once Brandon Scherff hits the market, the two-time Pro Bowler is only going to be 28 years old. Even though Washington stands to benefit from re-signing him, we know that the franchise is not very good at decision-making. We can see a battle brewing between the Titans and the Jets for him. The former has it hard to protect its QBs. On top of that, it is dead last when it comes to sacks relinquished.

Brandon Scherff

Brandon Scherff

Jadeveon Clowney

The Seattle Seahawks traded for Jadeveon Clowney. This turned out to be a great decision since he is their best pass rusher at the moment. He has also dominated the field at one point or another. We doubt that Seattle would let him walk away since they already gave up a lot of draft capital for him. It is going to be an expensive contract, but we can tell that it is going to be worth it.

Jadeveon Clowney

Jadeveon Clowney

A.J. Green

It is time for A.J. Green to play for a contender. After all, he has pretty much dwindled away as a member of Cincinnati. He is now 31 years old. With his drive to play for another team and his history of injury, it sounds like New England is a good match for him. Those legs are still full of juice. We all know that the Patriots have a thing for rejuvenating players who people think are already past their prime.

A.J. Green

A.J. Green

Amari Cooper

T.Y. Hilton has been hindered by a number of injuries and nicks. He is definitely not the same guy that he once was. Jacoby Brissett would probably love to be the No. 1 receiver. With his skill sets, Amari Cooper has plenty to offer the Indianapolis Colts. Without a doubt, he would be great on turf. The offensive of the team would go up right away thanks to his skills!

Amari Cooper

Amari Cooper

Anthony Castonzo

At the moment, the Dolphins could use a boost of talent. They especially need a cornerstone player that can add toughness and culture all in one go. Anthony Castonzo has proven his worth as a great offensive tackle. It sounds like he would be the perfect guy for Miami. The Colts probably want to re-sign him, but we are not going to be surprised if they run into a problem with cap space.

Anthony Castonzo

Anthony Castonzo

Jameis Winston

We expect Jameis Winston to re-up with the franchise that drafted him as the overall top pick a few years ago. He can throw to two talented receivers and work with the likes of Bruce Arians on the team. As long as the Buccaneers give him enough ground game, we are sure that he will deliver in spades.

Jameis Winston

Jameis Winston

Hunter Henry

Even though Hunter Henry is very talented, he has seen a lot of injuries ever since he joined the NFL. The state of his health will probably impact his potential contracts. At the moment, New England is looking for someone to replace Rob Gronkowski. We are sure that the Patriots won’t mind a player that can play on this caliber for a lower price. No doubt, Hunter Henry would kill it as a member of the Pats.

Hunter Henry

Hunter Henry

Austin Hooper

We predict a bidding war for Austin Hooper very soon. After all, the Jets, the Packers, the Titans, the Panthers, the Bears, the Patriots, and the Bills all need a good tight end. Austin Hooper has become one of the best in the NFL thanks to his blocking ability and sticky hands. We bet that he will re-sign with the Atlanta Falcons, although we really won’t be surprised if he gets a better offer from another team.

Austin Hooper

Austin Hooper

Jarran Reed

In the past year, Jarran Reed raked in less than $2 million. He is currently in line for a salary boost! The defensive tackle made 10.5 sacks in 2018. In 2019, he did not do as well but still proved his worth as a good player against the run. The Seahawks wants to rebuild its defense so that it can be a truly elite unit. We do not think that Seattle can afford to have Reed become a free agent.

Jarran Reed

Jarran Reed

Philip Rivers

This guy is probably the best QB who has yet to play in the Super Bowl. Philip Rivers has accomplished a lot of things in the past, but he is no longer the player that he used to be. Apart from his high rate of turnovers, he is no longer quick enough to properly push the ball downfield. On top of that, his family happens to have deep roots in San Diego. We are sad to say this, but we are guessing that the 38-year-old athlete would rather just hang up his cleats and retire in Southern California.

Philip Rivers

Philip Rivers

Teddy Bridgewater

If Philip Rivers retires, it would mean an open spot in Los Angeles. Teddy “Two Gloves” Bridgewater might not be the flashiest player out there, but he is a solid choice under center. He can move the ball efficiently and hardly causes turnovers. If Los Angeles needs a QB like Tua Tagovailoa and Justin Herbert, Bridgewater would make for a great stop-gap in the interim.

Teddy Bridgewater

Teddy Bridgewater

Shaquil Barrett

We are looking at a massive payday for Shaquil Barrett. As of December 5, he is the current league leader in sacks at 14.5! Pass-rushing skills have become super valuable in this day and age. We are sure that the 27-year-old has a lot of suitors for this very reason. We won’t be surprised if Atlanta comes for him. The Falcons need a pass-rushing genius, so this guy would certainly make for a great addition.

Shaquil Barrett

Shaquil Barrett

Marcus Mariota

Sadly, Tennessee is going to bid adieu to Marcus Mariota very soon. He is heading into free agency, and the former Oregon player is not exactly first-choice starting QB material. Pete Carroll has a soft spot for former Pac-12 players, so he will probably pick up Mariota to turn him into the best backup signal-caller in the NFL. If based in Seattle Seahawks, he will be at least closer to his hometown of Hawaii.

Marcus Mariota

Marcus Mariota

Trae Waynes

The Panthers plays in the same division as players like Julio Jones, Chris Godwin, Michael Thomas, and Calvin Ridley. This is the reason Carolina won’t go wrong with having a lot of good corners. Trae Waynes is known as a former first-round pick. It is possible that he will join the Carolina Panthers for a discount based on the other players at a similar position and the state of the market right now.

Trae Waynes

Trae Waynes

Joe Schobert

We all know that Mike Mayock likes tough and hard-nosed players. His draft record shows us that he likes players who do not just come from big and competitive schools. Based on this, it sounds like Joe Schobert is a good fit. The Wisconsin alum is a great tackler who is hardly caught out of position. The Oakland Raiders need more consistency when it comes to defense, and he can definitely help with that.

Joe Schobert

Joe Schobert

Chris Harris Jr.

There is not a single doubt in our minds that Chris Harris Jr. is going to be valuable to the New England Patriots. He has a lot of experience, a competitive streak, and a championship pedigree. At this point in his career, we are sure that they can get him at a discount. This is probably ideal for Bill Belichick.

Chris Harris Jr.

Chris Harris Jr.

Dak Prescott

We really doubt that the Dallas Cowboys will let Dak Prescott walk away. This is the same guy who helped improve their locker room! He is a good addition to the community and on the field. He has earned the respect of everyone in the franchise. We are sure that they will have to negotiate on an amount, but we feel confident that he will not be going anywhere.

Dak Prescott

Dak Prescott

Tom Brady

This is one of the biggest shockers of the offseason. The alleged split between Bill Belichick and Tom Brady will happen. We really doubt that the latter will join a team that is not set to go to the Super Bowl. It is possible that he will end up on the West Coast since his roots are in San Francisco. He also lives in Los Angeles in the offseason. As a Bay Area native, we can see him joining the San Francisco 49ers. If he is interested, we bet that John Lynch will have no reservations about pulling out all the stops. After all, the star player has a solid run game and big-time defense skills. It sounds like a match made in heaven!

Tom Brady

Tom Brady

Josh Norman

The Washington Redskins let go of Josh Norman even before the free agency. This means that they saved $12.5 million on his $75 million contract. Other teams know that they can have their pick. We are willing to bet that the Buffalo Bills are thinking of offering him a deal! If they do, he will probably take it.

Josh Norman

Josh Norman

Le’Veon Bell

It looks like it is time for Le’Veon Bell and the Pittsburgh Steelers to call it quits. He has been suffering some wear-and-tear that has been a cause of concern for the team. We are sure that other teams are willing to take a risk on him. We bet Detroit will take him in since he might bring them to the playoffs!

Le'Veon Bell

Le’Veon Bell

Aaron Donald

The Rams have already shown us that they have no qualms about spending on Aaron Donald. They would rather have him than sign key starters or depth players. The team wants to spend more money to keep players like Jared Goff and Todd Gurley in the future. However, we daresay that Aaron Donald is equally valuable. We do not doubt that the team does not mind spending more money on him.

Aaron Donald

Aaron Donald

Tyrann Mathieu

We were surprised when Tyrann Mathieu committed to the Houston Texans. However, it is clear that he values the team and aims to play with a loyal crew on stacked defenses. There is a chance that he will move. If that happens, we are putting our money on the Buffalo Bills or the New England Patriots.

Tyrann Mathieu

Tyrann Mathieu

Odell Beckham Jr.

It is not a secret that Odell Beckham Jr. is a great and dependable player. He and Pat Shurmur work well together. He has probably caught the eye of other teams, but it might be more difficult now after his injury. If he hopes to bag a title, he should probably stay with the Giants. They will be glad to keep him.

Odell Beckham Jr

Odell Beckham Jr.

Khalil Mack

At the moment, Khalil Mack is on the lookout for a new contract. He is probably the alpha of the team right now since a new coach will change things. It is possible that he may ditch the Oakland Raiders for New York. After all, the Jets are probably going to have a lot of cap space. They might be willing to turn him into the face of the team! The Raiders should be ready to bid it out if they want to keep Mack.

Khalil Mack

Khalil Mack

DeMarcus Lawrence

As an edge rusher, DeMarcus Lawrence has shown us how good he is on the field. His payday is coming soon. If you ask us, it looks like he would be perfect for the Oakland Raiders. They will likely have spaces open in the near future since we foresee a number of players living. If so, this will be a good match.

DeMarcus Lawrence

DeMarcus Lawrence

Randall Cobb

During his time with the Packers, Randall Cobb has been a little inconsistent. It might be time to mix things up since they failed to make it to the Super Bowl. If the team lets go of him, we feel certain that Tennessee will snap him right up. After all, the Titans could use a wide receiver. Luckily, they have a lot of money to pull this off. This sounds like a logistically sound move to us!

Randall Cobb

Randall Cobb

Taylor Lewan

Offensive linemen rake in a lot of money in the world of free agency. We bet that Taylor Lewan plans to use this to his advantage. There are many options for linesmen, and the Titans will probably let him walk free. However, the Buffalo Bills currently need a tackle. It sounds like Lewan would be a great choice.

Taylor Lewan

Taylor Lewan

Zack Martin

This All-pro guard probably wants to stay with Dallas. He probably knows his worth very well. The Cowboys are aware that Ezekiel Elliot will lead them, so it sounds like a good idea to keep Zack Martin around. The team will be at a loss without his impact, so the money is more than worth it.

Zack Martin

Zack Martin

Earl Thomas

Reports say that the Dallas Cowboys offered to trade for Thomas. However, the terms were unmet. It looks like he plans to leave Seattle soon. We are putting our money on Dallas, but we bet that it is going to be on an incentive deal. They have taken a liking to the safety, so this sounds very likely if you ask us.

Earl Thomas

Earl Thomas

Brian Orakpo

Now 32 years old, this pass-rusher has shown us that he can stay healthy during the three seasons he spent with the Titans. Right now, he has a lot of options. However, we think that the All-American Houston original is going to the Dallas Cowboys. Only time will tell if our guess is correct.

Brian Orakpo

Brian Orakpo

Danielle Hunter

It is common knowledge that the Vikings don’t mind spending a lot of money if it means keeping the right players around. Danielle Hunters is still young and on top of the game. Our guess is that they will resign him! Minnesota probably knows that this would be the right thing to do.

Danielle Hunter

Danielle Hunter

Tyrod Taylor

This is the upcoming top QB in the free agency. Tyrod Taylor has shown us just how good he is during the last three seasons. He spent that duration of time with the Buffalo Bills. Our guess is that he will go to Cleveland. It would be a good idea for the Jaguars to sign him as a replacement for Blake Bortles.

Tyrod Taylor

Tyrod Taylor

Ezekiel Ansah

All right, Ezekiel Ansah has been called pretty inconsistent in the past. However, there is a good chance that he will be in demand once he hits the market. We believe that he will leave the Detroit Lions for the Arizona Cardinals. After all, the latter needs an edge rusher to turn things around for them. However, we do not think that it is going to result in a long-term contract.

Ezekiel Ansah

Ezekiel Ansah

Anthony Harris

This is another safety that does not receive a lot of attention. Anthony Harris had an impressive run during the 2019 season. We bet that he will get a sweet deal thanks to that. He played for the Minnesota Vikings and has six picks. He did a great job in the middle when asked.

Anthony Harris

Anthony Harris

Cory Littleton

In the previous season, Cory Littleton gave it his all. It was the best season of his career thus far! At only 26 years old, we are sure that he will surpass this in the future. At the moment, things are looking up for the athletic Los Angeles Rams linebacker. We can’t wait to see what he does next.

Cory Littleton

Cory Littleton

Justin Simmons

Even though you might not recognize his name, we are sure that the NFL personnel have been paying attention to Justin Simmons. After all, he is an athletic, young ball hawk. A lot of people understand just how valuable such a player can be. He was last seen in the Denver Broncos.

Justin Simmons

Justin Simmons

Arik Armstead

This football defensive end had his best season in 2019. It came at exactly the right time because the San Francisco 49ers took him in after that. However, we do not think that they will keep him around. Oh well, we are sure that he will find a good deal from a different team very soon.

Arik Armstead

Arik Armstead

Ryan Tannehill

Not that long ago, Ryan Tannehill restores his career during his time with the Tennessee Titans. He came off the bench and led the team to the playoffs. It is exciting to see what the future has in store for the quarterback, who the Miami Dolphins drafted as a first-round pick in 2012.

Ryan Tannehill

Ryan Tannehill

Joe Thuney

Can you think of a team that needs a good guard who knows the fundamentals of the game like the back of his hand? If so, they should probably get Joe Thuney onboard. He has been the best lineman of the New England Patriots in the past season. We are sure that he will do amazing things in the future.

Joe Thuney

Joe Thuney

Jack Conklin

In 2018, Jack Conklin suffered from an injury. He had no choice but to start the next season slowly because of it. We are glad that he has since bounced back from that. He did well in the playoffs. The Tennessee Titans member has shown us his worth as a great starting right tackle. What is next for him?

Jack Conklin

Jack Conklin

Javon Hargrave

This power player is more than capable of handling the point against the run. As we all know, big people are paid handsomely. We have no doubt that Javon Hargrave will land a great deal. He showed off his pass-rush ability during his time with the Pittsburgh Steelers, after all.

Javon Hargrave

Javon Hargrave

James Bradberry

He might think that he is an elite corner, but we do not agree with that assessment. This might be the case, but James Bradberry has proven to be a good starter who can offer a team some coverage ability. He has played for the Panthers. In the past three seasons, he started 47 games.

James Bradberry

James Bradberry

Bryan Bulaga

Are you familiar with Bryan Bulaga? He has made a name for himself as a starting right tackle who can do his job adeptly. The offensive tackle has shown us that he is a good pass blocker during the nine seasons that he spent with the Green Bay Packers. He was a first-round pick in 2010.

Bryan Bulaga

Bryan Bulaga

Robby Anderson

There are a lot of teams out there that should improve their outside passing game. Robby Anderson and his speed would be able to help with this goal. He does not always play to the speed as a player for the New York Jets, but that does not mean that it is not there.

Robby Anderson

Robby Anderson

D.J. Reader

In the previous year, D.J. Reader came off his best season as a pro! He has since become a top defensive lineman, although it does not look like a lot of people know it. At the age of 26, he has yet to play his best game. The former Houston Texans player is now playing for the Cincinnati Bengals.

D.J. Reader

D.J. Reader

Leonard Williams

Previously, the New York Jets traded Leonard Williams to the New York Giants. However, it is pretty certain that he is not going to stay with them either. The sad truth is that he is not much of a sack guy. This is probably going to mean that his price is going to stay low.

Leonard Williams

Leonard Williams

Matt Judon

With 9.5 sacks to his name, Matt Judon came off a career high at the ideal time. With this record, he became known as a great edge player in his class. The Baltimore Ravens linebacker has raked in 24.5 sacks during the past three years. It is clear that he is more than a one-hit wonder.

Matt Judon

Matt Judon

Jimmie Ward

Before moving to safety on a full-time basis, Jimmie Ward just came off his best season. He has shown us that he has a wide range. This plays to his advantage since this is pretty important if you are on the back end. The San Francisco 49ers drafted him during the first round of the 2014 Draft and has never let him go.
