Healthy Snacks To Bring To The Beach

Going to the beach is one of the best parts of summer, without a doubt! Everything from the warm ocean breeze to the cool water and the soft sand makes for the perfect place to spend a hot day. The biggest dilemma of the day tends to be: what food should you bring with? Naturally, easy and quick snacks are ideal. If you’re trying to keep to a healthy lifestyle, that can seem like a bit of a challenge, but we’re here to tell you it really isn’t! You don’t need to buy expensive granola bars or anything like that. The things you can pack up for a day out in the sun are actually pretty simple to make and store! All you need to keep them fresh is a cooler with an icepack and you’re good to go.

Fresh Fruit

This might seem obvious, but it’s a fantastic option. Not only will fruit satisfy your sweet tooth, but you can try different things! For instance, put some grapes in the freezer the night before – they make for a delicious and cooling beach treat. You can mix up several fruits to make a bright and colorful salad if you’d like, or even stick to the classic summer fruit: watermelon. It has a lot of water, meaning it’ll help you stay hydrated!

Veggies And Hummus

Another easy and delicious option is fresh veggies with hummus as a dip. You can slice cucumbers, carrots, bell peppers, tomatoes or pretty much any other veggie to go with the dip. It’s hard to go wrong with this one.

Ice Tea

If you tend to get bored with plain water, try making your own ice tea! You can use green tea or black tea and even infuse it with fruits or mint.

Nuts

A filling and nutritious snack, nuts are a great treat to have on-the-go. Their high antioxidants and omega-3 fatty acid contents are great for you.

Banana And Peanut Butter

This is a pretty straightforward one. Eating a banana with peanut butter is the perfect combination of sweet and salty. Not only are bananas high in potassium and vitamins B6 and C, but the protein-packed peanut butter will keep you full.

Sandwich

If you want something more filling than just snacks, then a sandwich is the way to go. You can use whichever bread you want and load it with tasty veggies. One great combo is whole-grain bread, avocado spread, spinach, tomato, and feta cheese. Of course, you can put in anything you want!
